- The Pharmacy with Preparatory year is an extended degree programme, tailored to our accredited Pharmacy course at Level 4.- The course is ideal if you have non-traditional or unrelated qualifications or experience, are returning to education or would like some support to prepare for a degree.- Our pharmacy department’s new GP simulation suite and simulated hospital ward with life-like manikins will provide you with the most up-to-date teaching to equip you for your future role as prescribing pharmacists.- Our commitment to high quality teaching has been recognised with a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold rating. About this courseThis course introduces you to pharmacy as a science-based healthcare professional.The preparatory year is designed so that you’ll not only have a solid theoretical understanding in each of the subject areas, but gain good grounding in practical skills and help you feel confident to progress to more demanding aspects of the MPharm degree course.Success in your foundation year means you’ll be able to progress to the MPharm degree course. You’ll need an average of 70% in the foundation year science modules (with at least 70% in chemistry).

Career opportunitiesYou’ll be able to progress to Year 1 of the MPharm course if you meet the above requirements. If you pass the course but don’t meet the requirements for pharmacy, you may progress to other science-based degree courses.
