The best thing about studying speech and language therapy at leeds beckett is that there is so much support offered and all the lecturers are so nice and engaging. From the very start you get thrown in with placements and feel really involved in the career. The worst aspects of my university experience is that sometimes there is a big workload so it can be difficult to manage your time with multiple assignments, exams and placements all going on at the same time.

Most of the teaching is done in the university and we attend university a lot more than most people I know. There have been 2 modules so far which have been online but it is quite nice to have a module where you can do it in your own times to make the days shorter and more manageable. The only thing I have been disappointed by is the fact one of our placements is now online instead of in person as they found this worked well after covid but I would have preferred an in person placement.

My favourite thing about living in the plaza is the fact it is across the road from leeds beckett city campus. I love the fact I can wake up in a morning and walk 2 minutes to be at my 9am lectures. However, the facilities are very basic and we have had multiple issues with our oven. These were fixed but we had to ask multiple times for this to happen.

Everyone on campus is really friendly, kind, and, helpful. The course lecturers really care about the students and the support that you can get from the DSA team is the best I have ever had. The library staff are also really helpful and the IT department are really supportive. This University supasses my first University experience and I can't recommend the University enough. It deserves all the accreditation it has.

The course is taught mainly on campus and the amount of teaching hours I have a week is almost triple what I had in my undergraduate degree at another university. The contact time with the lectures is really good and the placments we get to go on have really enhanced my skills and development of subjects covered in lectures.
