It's had its ups and downs and many aspects I haven't enjoyed but the work is interesting and Sunderland hasn't broken my bank balance so all in all its a fun, friendly, cheap uni in a fairly cool little City :)

I don't know any students who are actually involved in the SU as its on a smaller campus, and frankly smells of sewage. I've only ever been at freshers but it's unfortunate location makes it a difficult place to market. It doesn't matter though as Sunderland has soooo many cheap bars and pubs, so there's plenty of choice!

I don't do any societies as I don't enjoy sports, or the gothic so there wasn't really a society for me. Societies also have many drinking events which I am not at all interested in, but are excellent for those wanting it

When I can choose what to focus my research or assignments on.

I'm still incredibly nervous for finding a job, I'm absolutely dreading applying, being interviewed and being rejected from jobs because I get so anxious and stressed and cry, a lot. But the university will be there to help me if I need extra guidance, as I know they do a wonderful careers service.

In my first year I stayed in The university's cheapest accommodation and you definitely got what you paid for: ten people crammed into ugly cinder block buildings, very prisonesque, but it did foster a community spirit. In second year I stayed in a private property which was much cheaper rent than the uni and much better facilities - ALL BILLS, ALL FURNITURE, and even a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a huge telly for just £70 a week! Amazing, loved it.
