As a mature student, I have found my experience of studying at Bangor not only hugely enjoyable but also incredibly rewarding and encouraging. The student support is excellent and I have built up a great working relationship over the past few years with my supervisor and support staff. I am also a parent and therefore study part-time, and have found that my personal circumstances are always taken into consideration. With regard to my studies, feedback is always constructive and helpful and there are opportunities within the faculty to contribute to in-house publications but also encouragement to write and publish outside the university. Staff in the department have a range of expertise and there is an atmosphere of supportive networking, where academics share ideas but also support. The range of modules, as well as public lectures and research seminars, is broad and always interesting - I studied at Bangor from MA level and am now heading towards writing-up my PhD thesis so have been here for a number of years now, and can highly recommend Bangor university.

I have regular contact with my supervisor in face to face meetings and he is always available via email. He has been hugely supportive and encouraging.

The university Main Arts Building is an impressive building and the campus is spread across Bangor with many facilities. The support from staff across the uni is great and there is a community feeling.
