History postgraduate degrees

The people here are really nice and excited to learn and it’s perfect that the location is so good so you can go out with friends from this uni and other unis nearby. I wish the facilities were a bit more modernized and new. There’s no AC in the Library and rooms look old.

As an international student, one of the most rewarding aspects of my university experience has been the supportive and student-friendly environment. Adjusting to a new country and education system can be challenging, but the university’s approachable faculty, student services, and peer support made the transition much smoother. The staff are always willing to help, and there are numerous resources available to assist with academic, personal, and cultural adaptation. The university’s inclusivity is another key strength. It celebrates diversity and provides a space where everyone feels respected and valued, regardless of their background or nationality. This inclusive atmosphere has helped me build meaningful connections and collaborate with people from all over the world, enriching my learning and broadening my perspective. Furthermore, the welcoming and accessible environment has made a huge difference. From orientation events to student societies, there are constant efforts to make international students feel at home. The campus facilities, online learning tools, and support services are highly accessible, ensuring that all students can participate fully in academic and social activities. If I can point out something that can be improved is Food. It’s funny how something as simple as food can make such a big difference in how “at home” you feel in a new country. Encouraging more international food options on campus or hosting cultural food events could make a meaningful (and delicious!) improvement to student life.

Everyone I have met has been friendly and helpful. There are plenty of societies to join and the student union bar is great for a bit of socialisation on the side. I wish there were more green spaces to sit and quiet areas like the library dotted around. Parking is a bit hit and miss but there's plenty of buses.

Best aspects: The university provides a supportive learning environment with helpful lecturers and good academic resources. The campus is generally welcoming, and there are plenty of opportunities to develop skills both academically and personally. Worst aspects / Improvements: One issue that needs improvement is the heating and hot water system, as it does not always work properly. At times, students only have access to cold water, which can be uncomfortable and difficult, especially for students who are sensitive or have health issues related to cold temperatures. Ensuring reliable heating and hot water would greatly improve student comfort and wellbeing.

Genuinely speaking, my university, UWE Bristol, is a very good place for cultural fusion and is comfortable for people from every corner of the world. It allows me to learn about different cultures and meet different people, helping me build a good understanding with everyone, which will be very helpful for my future career. However, if I talk about the negative aspects of my university, there are not many major issues. I believe the support team and the administrative staff who handle student matters need to be more accurate and supportive. If they act more efficiently, students will feel more comfortable dealing with different situations. As international students, the education system and university environment are quite new to us, so we need strong support from the university body.

The best aspects are that the teachers are helpful and experienced and so it helps with learning, however there could be more help with exam resources such as more practice questions for the exam to get the most support
