To be perfectly honest, I never "fell in love with York" before I came here. I put it down as an arbitrary fifth choice and never dreamed I would end up here. But as cheesy as it sounds I would not want to be anywhere else. Obviously the nightlife does not rival big city unis like Leeds and Newcastle, but what I have found is it is more focused on clubs and societies, which put on a variety of events to suit everyone. It can not be stressed enough how important it is to get involved in at least one of these. Personally I have found There is a really good balance between work and social life, although obviously it is up to the individual exactly how this balance is struck. Despite my strong misgivings initially, I now would not hesitate in recommending York as a fantastic uni to study at (especially for English!)

The York has tried to welcome new students from all around the world. It is supportive enough to feel calm. The educational system is really perfect.
