The facilities available at birmingham city south campus are really good especially when it comes to practical sessions, as it allows us as students to get a feel for what it would feel like when on placement or after university. Personally, I do not have any recommendations of improvement for my university.

The way our course is structured is very well blended between practical placement and theory elements in university. Something I would improve at my university is the delivery of certain lectures such as bioscience, as it is a content heavy subject it can sometimes be difficult to keep on track with what is being said and can be easy to fall begin during lecture which can be stressful. Also, i believe that our placement blocks are the most helpful and best part of our course, as this allows us time on the road where we can observe paramedics and ask questions to develop our knowledge.

The lecturers are very nice in my course and my tutor is incredibly supportive. City South Campus has less facilities than the City Centre Campus though, so healthcare students get the short end of the stick. Societies tend to take place in City Centre which means I have not been able to attend societies due to traffic making me miss most of the sessions.

My course is healthcare and is almost completely in person. There is a range of lectures, workshops and simulations. we often get our pre-session work a week ahead of the lectures to prepare. however, iCity (the app/website for timetables) barely works. It is almost never accurate which means that we have to consistently check the moodle website and find the timetable document there. This is incredibly inconvenient. As iCity never works, it also means the scanner at the door never works either as the scanner uses the iCity timetable to check where you should be (which is wrong). This could mess up your attendance and the lecturer more often than not has to pass around a paper register anyway. Furthermore, the timetabling team likes to switch up buildings and often I go back and forth between Seacole and Harborne which I just find inconvenient.
