Staff turnover is very high, has lead to a lack of consistency during my time at uni. Staff have listened to student complaints and made adequate changes to help support us

Placement is the best aspect of the course, one to one time with mentors and crews. Lack of communication between placement hubs and the university, lots of delays in getting shifts out to students. Mentors state they struggle to get a response from the university when problems arise

Both Birmingham campuses are always clean and tidy, with bright moder spaces and modern facilities. More library space would be nice though

If it weren't for the course it would be a great uni. Nice campus, good facilities, and in the centre of Birmingham. The course however, is very unorganised with poor communication. Exams are placed right after placement blocks with only a week off to revise (bearing in mind we are at placement on average 37.5 hours a week), and each marker has a different opinion on what we should and shouldn't be putting in essays. Feedback is vague and the markscheme ultimately useless. Some of the content seems more suited to a medicine degree while some we aren't taught at all (pointed out by a mentor on placement). Although there is support in place it is a lot of jumping through hoops to access it and personally I didn't find it helpful. A couple of the lecturers are great (passionate and give feedback) but it seems like none of them have spoken to each other about what is expected of students assignments which is frustrating. Because of time spent on placement it doesn't feel like there's much time spent at uni, e.g. only 3-4 days in the spring term, and 2 weeks in summer term. Which could be solved by breaking up placement blocks rather than having 10 weeks in a row. If they were more organised and on the same page, with a review of the course content, it would be a great course.
