I have loved the University of Leeds. My classmates are all of such a high standard and it’s a great (and nerve racking sometimes) feeling to be so challenged in seminars but you gain so much from it. The teaching is of such a high standard with top academics and although I sometimes feel the marking is quite tough for philosophy it develops writing, arguing, analysing skills a huge amount. The campus is beautiful and I have loved my course and modules. The location is also a huge plus. There are not many universities with a huge campus that is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and in addition have student accommodation and rented houses within walking distance. As a student it has really benefited the experience to be so conveniently close to everything that is important. It is a city that is perfect for students with everything and anything people with different tastes in music/food/culture would ever need.

Absolutely love my course and lecturers. They are the top in their profession and so passionate about what they do and all are experts in their field. It definitely pushes the students not just to achieve 2:1s but really get into the depths of the subject and benefits those who would want to continue on to do a master's/PHD. Have loved my modules, not so much first year but the choice and subject matter in second and third year was fascinating.

I found the careers portal really helpful with a wide range of choices for internships. I think they could improve by updating it and making it more user friendly so you can pinpoint exactly what opportunities you are looking for e.g. internships/voluntary work/placement year in an easier way. I would also say I think there could be slightly more improvement in job prospects for Arts degrees especially as there are people doing these courses who would like to find jobs in big corporations but it is difficult for those students to find appropriate opportunities. Overall, from what I’ve seen, companies do tend to favour those from Leeds University for the name.

Leeds accomodation is very good value although sometimes a bit dirty/grimy. Local landlords aren't exactly the most ethical of people but it is affordable for student which is the most important factor. Also the halls are very sociable in first year.
