It’s great to be around the music community and have access to the music studios to work on my projects. I enjoy the practical lessons and learning key tools for mixing, mastering, sound design and the creative process. I would enjoy more creative time and individual study so it stays apparent to my musical aspirations. I find the group creative activities quiet tricky as sometimes there are too many students for the studios so we have groups of 2 or 3 in each studio which means you could have some weeks where you don’t take control of the session so that can be slightly counter productive. Splitting the lessons and the time could help so smaller groups for the studio days to ensure each student can work in the studio fully.

I enjoy the experience of our tutors and the way they engage with us during lectures and classes. They are always on hand to assist with any problems and have an online database for any lecture you may have missed. The second term schedule (Mondays and Fridays) takes a bit of getting used to as I would prefer to have more time between lessons so I can digest what I’ve learnt. Studios stay open on weekend so this is a great positive and I really enjoy coming in on weekends to work.

dBs is a fantastic institute with knowledgeable tutors/technicians. Plenty of support is available to all students and I feel like I have a voice. Its small size is both a blessing and a curse, as it allows more one on one time with tutors, but reduces the overall facilities.
