I'm an international student from Mauritius and this has been my experience so far: In my first year I was a bit lonely especially because our lectures were online and we had seminars in person but it was not enough time to make friends in my opinion. Getting support took a while because of the long waiting list of people before me so I opted for something that was not on campus. I lived in student halls, it was alright, my flatmates were nice but a bit messy. In my second year currently and I find it better. I have a group of friends and lectures/seminars are in person which makes it easier to make friends and get in touch with people. Overall students here are very helpful, nice and want to help others. I fell in love with the library here after spending hours doing my assignments, it's s better than home. The campus is beautiful, the greenery was one of the reasons why I choose to come here and also because of the course level and way of teaching. Before coming here, everyone recommended me the University of Kent. And honestly I can now say if you want a social life, join societies, go out even in the day, don't be scared to talk to random people and overall just being nice can leave an impact about you on someone. That's why I like this atmosphere and place. It's very friendly and it's easy to get into activities

Lecturers are very flexible, when there's an assignment they tell you at what time and date you can come meet them. Classes this year have been better. I really like my second year. My courses are easy to follow and the course hours are not that bad, there's a lot of free time to study or even for personal things to do.

It might be a bit expensive but the room felt very comfortable and what I really liked is that I didn't have to share a bathroom. And the kitchen was quite big for everyone to cook in.
