The campus is great with 1st year accommodation only a 15 minute walk away and most 2nd and 3rd years living nearby in Selly Oak. Lots of places to study on campus and lots of cafés and food outlets too. I feel like if I was in need of support, I would be helped but it is not something actively promoted by personal tutors.

Languages students get a lot of contact hours which is great but lectures are pre-recorded online and are not very engaging. The content is very interesting however often not fantastically taught. As an advanced French student, much of it is taught by postgraduates whose teaching abilities vary. My beginners Russian has been amazing - the native speakers are excellent and beginners go to Kazakhstan for a month to a language school over the summer, with flights and teaching paid for.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent, tons of storage, a window that lets in plenty of air and a huge desk. The kitchens, however, are not good - they are small (especially with 6 people per flat), everything is crammed together so only 2 people can cook at once, the oven and hob are awful and there is no extractor fan so the fire alarm goes off all the time. Unless you really want to live on the Vale, go for Battery Park for a higher standard at a lower price.
