Study fascinating and significant global artistic works alongside the languages that interest you the most. Strengthen your linguistic fluency with an understanding and appreciation of your target society's artistic and cultural works, as well as its history, politics and more. Attend seminars and events at our art gallery on campus which houses works by famous artists such as; Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Magritte and Kollwitz. Our diverse optional modules give you the chance to explores areas of art history that interest you the most, from the Medieval to the contemporary. Study a modern language or two from beginner or advanced level - choose from French, Italian, Russian or Spanish. Experience a new approach to language learning with our CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) teaching method - study topics of cultural significance, designed and delivered by expert researchers. You’ll be assessed in different ways to suit each module. At the start of a module, you’ll be told how and when you’ll be assessed. Methods will vary but may include coursework (e.g., essays), group or individual presentations and projects, exams, reports or computer-based assignments.
