The University is welcoming, and small enough to not feel overwhelming, which was what first attracted me to it. I wouldn't say I've had very bad experiences, only small annoyances, which came mostly from poor organisation and communication, but those haven't hindered all my good experiences (both planned by the uni or things done with friends). I love the course and all the freedom I have, and despite all the rain, I do love Bournemouth.

A lot of the course is self study (as one would expect in a course where you need time to write), with about 8 (give or take depending on course year and term time) contact hours a week. There's a good mix of lectures and workshops. The only downsides would be last year when we'd have 2 two hour lectures on the same day, which can be very tiring. It would be extra tiring if the lecturer wasn't engaging, and that simply depends on who you get. But the course team are very genuine and interested in the course and our writing, which makes for a very welcoming space.

This is a great location - close to the train station, big Asda, bus stop, town centre. Staff members are very nice, and there are often events/giveaways/community things that happen for Belaton. Other bonuses are the included gym and cinema room. Only downside would be the views: noisy roundabout on roadside rooms, or courtyard and backs of houses on other side of building.

The facilities are lacking a bit as the Bournemouth Uni next door seems to have a lot more food and drink locations and larger facilities. However the look and feel of the uni is a lot more welcoming and has a nicer vibe compared to Bournemouth University

I’m not the biggest fan of the rooms and facilities available to the creative writing students. I believe there needs to be more desks in these areas implemented for writing, as our old lecture hall B001 does not have any desks and therefore makes it hard to write

I wasn’t a fan of how old the building smelled, how a lot of the carpets were stained and that the showers were far too small, but it is a okay place for the money and a good destination for international students if they can’t spend a lot of money.
