4.5The Llandaff campus has recently had millions of pounds of investment. There are sporting facilities, a students' union, on-site shop, coffee bars and a refectory. It is also home to the part of the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences, Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff School of Technologies' and the Cardiff School of Art and Design.
There are also subject specific facilities, including the Zero2Five Food Industry Centre, which houses a laboratory, specialist equipment, a research kitchen and more. In the psychology department, there are dedicated computer laboratories for carrying out different kinds of research.
At the Cyncoed campus, you'll find the Cardiff School of Education & Social Policy and the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences. Here there are on-site sporting facilities, a shop, coffee bars and a refectory. There is also the head office for the Students and Athletics' union. There are also a number of subject specific facilities, including physiology labs, biomechanics lab, a massage teaching room and more.

As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff has lots of things to do for both students and the general population. It has been voted as one of the best places to live in the UK by various brands including Lonely Planet and Rough Guides. Student reviewers also regularly praise how much they can do in the city, with the night life in particular getting regular mentions.
There are hundreds of restaurants, both big name chains and independent eateries, with plenty of food festivals, bars and clubs. Sports fans will enjoy the world-class sporting facilities which can be found in the city centre including the Principality Stadium (international rugby) and SSE Swalec (international cricket).
Music fans are served by a range of different venues, including St David's Hall, the Motorpoint Arena, Clwb Ifor Bach and of course big-name stadium tours at the Principality. Cardiff has some of the largest parks in the UK, but is also just a short drive away from both beaches and mountains.

There are several societies and clubs that you can join which are separated into different categories, including charity, nationalities and beliefs, political, hobbies and subjects. It's also possible to start your own society if none of the existing ones appeal. The Students' Union supports new societies with up to £100 in funding, continuous advice and support and use of facilities. Societies need to have 10 people interested in order to start; you can post your ideas on a union forum to garner support. There's no limit on how many societies you join.

2.8Cardiff Metropolitan University prides itself on its links with industry and professionals, offering options for work experience and placements, meaning courses are designed to instil students with the skills they need to pursue a professional career. In fact, 96%* of graduates enter employment or further study within six months of graduation.
Graduates are entitled to use Cardiff Met's Career Development Services, as well as the alumni network and other programmes. Careers advisers are available, along with lots of information on Cardiff Met's website.

4.1There are nearly 1,000 study bedrooms available for students across the two Cardiff Met campuses, with further available from private halls of residences. Prices can change, so it's worth checking the accommodation web pages of the Cardiff Met website for up to date and accurate information.
The Cyncoed campus is located two miles from the city centre, with Halls available on site for ultra-convenience - no need to travel far for lectures! The campus is served by regular buses, to give you transport in and out of the city centre when you need it. There's an array of sporting facilities, 24-hour computer labs, on-site laundry and numerous cafes. Bedrooms are standard, en-suite, or refurbished en-suite. You get free wireless internet, a free flat screen TV in the majority of kitchens, and free contents insurance. Self-catered rooms are between £116.00 - £124.00, while catered cost between £164.00 - £175.00.
The Plas Gwyn campus can be found just outside Cardiff city centre in Llandaff. It is served by bus routes between other campuses and into the city centre. There are 393 single study bedrooms, which all have en-suite bathrooms. Rooms are grouped in flats of eight, with shared kitchen and dining areas. On-site there is a multiuse games arena, on-site laundry, data room and communal TV room with vending machines. There are also shops, restaurants, bars, banking and other facilities within five-minute walk, and there also sports and leisure facilities nearby. You can enjoy free flat screen TVs in kitchens and free contents insurance. Rent is £112.00 - £118.00 a week (based on a 40-week contract).

Many undergraduate courses are professionally accredited across all five academic schools and are designed in conjunction with business and industry. Our academic teams are at the forefront of their fields and are supported in developing their knowledge and skills through the University's staff review and development scheme.
3.9The Cardiff Met Students' Union (SU) has two Executive Officers (President and Vice President) and five Academic School Representatives. Course reps are also appointed for each undergraduate degree. Through the UMAX initiative, the SU offers students the opportunity to attend a range of free workshops delivered by industry consultants, aimed at providing additional skills and training, as well as a Job Shop for part-time work.
SU Sport is run by the Students' Union and it provides and supports over 25 different Sports Clubs which compete in BUCS. Pinnacle Campus Sports offers friendly participation opportunities across campuses in a range of sports.
