Strathclyde is very welcoming and always open to everyone. I wish the university library was open 24/7 during full term
The best aspect of my university experience at the University of Strathclyde is how practical and industry focused the teaching is. The university truly lives up to its reputation as a place of useful learning. Many modules are clearly designed with real engineering and industry applications in mind rather than being purely theoretical. Lecturers often relate concepts to real world examples current industry practices or ongoing research which makes learning feel relevant and engaging. Most lecturers and tutors are approachable and supportive and are willing to help outside of class which creates a positive learning environment. The campus is also centrally located and compact which makes it convenient to get around and helps build a strong sense of community among students. Another strong aspect of Strathclyde is the quality of its facilities and student support. Libraries laboratories and study spaces are well maintained and suitable for both individual and group work. There is also strong emphasis on employability with good access to careers support internships and industry engagement opportunities which is especially valuable for students planning to enter the workforce after graduation. An area that could be improved is the intensity of the workload in some courses. During certain periods multiple assessments from different modules tend to overlap which can be stressful and challenging to manage. Better coordination of deadlines across modules could help students balance their workload more effectively. In addition while teaching quality is generally high there can be some inconsistency between modules. Some lectures are very well structured and engaging while others rely more heavily on independent learning with less guidance which may be difficult for some students. Overall the University of Strathclyde is a great place to study particularly for students who value practical learning strong industry links and a supportive academic environment. With improved coordination of assessments and more consistency in teaching delivery the student experience could be even better. My overall experience has been positive and rewarding and I would recommend Strathclyde to students looking for a practical and career focused education in a vibrant city.
Best Aspects: The best part of studying at University of Strathclyde Business School has been the strong focus on practical, career-ready learning. The coursework links theory directly to real business problems through group projects, case studies, and presentations, which has helped me build confidence, teamwork skills, and commercial awareness. The Careers Service and employer engagement are also standout, with workshops, networking events, and internships that genuinely support students in preparing for competitive industries. The campus location in Glasgow is another big plus, making it easy to balance academic life with work opportunities and student activities. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: At times, deadlines across different modules can cluster together, which makes workload management challenging during peak periods. I also think there could be more consistency across modules in terms of assessment guidance and feedback timelines. Improving coordination between departments and offering even more structured support for first- and second-year students exploring career paths would make the experience even stronger.
The lecturers are engaging and passionate, making the learning experience less daunting for those with less confidence. You're pushed to try new things in a welcoming environment, and there is always opportunity to develop your skills within your own chosen niche. However, the campus buildings themselves leave much to be desired - a lot of them are cold and spiritless, and the facilities within them are often quite run down.
Need more seats or desk during lunchtime.
The location is good as it is a short walk to the centre of town. As well as this, my accommodation is a short walk from Aldi, making shopping easy. However, my fridge has been leaking for weeks and nothing has been done about it despite me and several of my flatmates reporting it.
You can book a space for study no matter what year you are in or what subject you are studying. Equality .
The best thing is that it pushes you hard to achieve your best, with room for error for genuine mistakes. Staff are extremely helpful if you put in the effort and are supportive of the degree. An improvement would be that the accommodations in some places were not hygienic, with mould and rats (rare).
The University of Strathclyde offers a range of courses which, in my experience, offer a practical style of teaching that sets up students incredibly well for the workplace upon graduation. This style of teaching is absolutely part of the reason I secured a graduate role in my penultimate year of study at my dream company, and I believe it has set me up well for the work I will do within this job and beyond. The University has a really positive atmosphere. It does not feel snobby at all, despite being its high rankings in university ratings publications and its quality of teaching. The social aspect of it is really warm and welcoming, and there are so many ways to get involved.
Studying at the University of Strathclyde has been an incredibly positive experience. What stands out most is the inclusive environment; from the moment you step onto the Glasgow campus, you feel a genuine sense of belonging. The university celebrates diversity and ensures that every student, regardless of their background, feels seen and valued.
Campus location is very good, lots to do around the uni, some buildings a bit 1960s monstrosities but overall a great uni
Love
Best aspects are the quality of the facilities the machines lecture rooms are amazing. Downside is the location being on a hill very slippy at times however very easy to navigate to different buildings.
Buildings could be more modernised
Best: union food is brilliant Worst: trying to find a place to sit in peak times

The best aspects of my university experience: One of the best things about studying here is the supportive academic environment. The lecturers are genuinely passionate about their subjects and always willing to offer feedback or extra help when needed. The campus community is also very diverse and welcoming — it’s easy to meet people from different backgrounds and get involved in societies or events. The facilities, especially the library and study spaces, are excellent and make it easier to stay focused and productive. The areas that could be improved: One area that could be developed further is communication and organisation around assessments — sometimes deadlines or marking criteria aren’t made clear early enough.
Every is been good
Great atmosphere, central location, modern facilities.
