The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

I love my university being part and help me achieve my qualification has given confidence and given positive outcome to show myself I can do better and achieve what I desire with focus and efforts.
In class each lectures lasted 1-3 hours slot. Given mentor to help us with dissertations and other help. Great lecturers to support us with our degree.
My university is great easy access to everything from IT to class rooms everything works out well like college student separate and uni students separate. We had academic support and tutor a support through the whole degree.
I thought the university was great when I first started and now that I’m in my second year I’ve realised all the uni wants is our money and doesn’t care about the students mental health or that fact that some are financially struggling
Online 2 days a week
The first time I entered the university I felt very good about my decision. I was always supported on my studies and on my practical lessons on the restaurant of the university. I really love it and recommend it to everyone thinking about studying in Birmingham. I’m really grateful
My university really supports our careers. There is the Hired Hub which is a centre where they help you with your cv or getting a job. My course as an international placement in hospitality which really supports our careers.
My lecturers are very kind and do explain the things over and over again if necessary! I really like and feel motivated for my classes everyday!
As my university had a big investment in facilities! The facilities are very great, big library with many computers and books. Good study rooms as well as seminar rooms.
My year manager is always ready to help us if we need something. The mental health centre is always available as well. A new app has been created recently for mental health issues and it is supported by the university. The CASE is always ready to help you if you have any doubts on your assignments.
Enjoying my time here, have met some great friends and was given great opportunities with trips. Do sometimes think that the uni only thinks of the money they can make from new students and only focus on recruiting new students and not bother with their current students mental health and learning.
Unitemps have been great with part time jobs Hired do run good job fayres but that is about it, so many staff work in hired yet in order to get your CV checked you have to put it in an online robot which assess the cv and give you a percentage score you have to get a score of over 70% to get your cv checked by staff, so if you really need your cv improved you're a bit stuck, shouldn't those with lower scores get more help. My lecturer ended up going over my cv which was so much more valuable. They advertise jobs on hired connect, ive applied for a few and hear nothing back I sent an email during covid that i was really struggling finding a job and have applied for so many and had not been successful, they didnt provide any help just told me to put the cv through the robot which i had already done.
Course was really good , with really good modules that included business and tourism as well, I loved the Airline Crew Resource Management an Travel Marketing I loved that they brought in industry speakers and the trips were amazing, visited Dubai which was incredible. Only down side was that the University seems to take on anyone for money, which means some people join for the sake of it, and talk and mess around during lectures, the lecturers try and address the issue but nothing was done, just annoying when you want to work really hard for the degree but spending 9 grand a year to hear students behind you talking about football.
Never really hear from them until they want your votes for election. Although do commend Ross for standing up for us when the accommodation team wanted to charge rent during covid when we all went home
Stayed in both halls, prices go up but know improvements on what they offer, rooms and kitchens were great in both In cambrian you have to share a bathroom, and with the locks on the door, it can come to the point where your neighbour can walk in on you, but i met so many good friends here The Maltings is the more livelier halls and better facilities with your own bathroom Would of bee great if they kept the bar and shop but theres a tesco express round the corner.
UCB is improving their facilities but sometimes that means the building work disturbs student learning, also think the library should of stayed in camden it was spread out space with a great cafe, now its over two floors in a tight building, there used to be hardly any computers available but i know they have increased this now.
Campus and Accommodation are all in city centre, easily walk to bullring and bars and restaurants and such a wide range of food and drink available. Great transport links with new street close and buses available, also ubers and taxis for nights out Only recommendation would be to set up a coach or minibus each week and students pay £1 to go to supermarket and back, just so students dont have to carry heavy bags for 20 mins
Hardly any sport clubs or societies compared to other Universities These are only advertised at freshers fayre Joined volleyball club, went on the 1st week and was run by the leaders and captains, never to be seen again after that they never turned up so we ran it ourselves and ended up being kicked out the sports hall due to scheduling with the guild, was a waste of time.
Not really spoken about ,we know there are services available but nothing is advertised for these services.
I love my university, events it is providing, great opportunity for students to learn more instead of just sitting and listening to the lecture. I would recommend it to anyone
They are making a great effort, organising a lot of events
What I like most is the fact that they are really interesting, but I don't like boring seminars
I dont have an opinion
Very good quality
I’m not interesed in sports but societes are fine
It is perfect place fo study. There is a lot of support for every student from lecturers and other university staff. Lecture rooms are comfortable, modern and cosy.
There happends a lot of carrier fairs, where students can meet a variety of employers. Also university Hired team really helps for every student to get employed
I like the most lecturers. They are very supportive and helping. Also, the buildings are nice and cosy.
Yes, it is in the city center
A lot of different societies
There is a lot of support. Staff is really helping
Brilliant experience, amazing state of the art buildings, great lectures and facilities. Really good place to study at, great location. Course well organised and plenty off support available. The only downside is lack of parking, wich is currently being built i believe.
We have job fare
I love my course
Not sure, never been told where that is?
Brilliant, library could do with more books and jornals
Brilliant location, good transport links, shopping, library, food outlets
Very interesting to study with international student from over the world. Very connected and friendly atmosphere and easy to get some friends. Accommodation life is crazy and cool, you have your own room and it takes not more than 5 min to get anywhere.
Very different and various, good preparation for our future life
Heard just good things about, many different facilities!
No experience with that
Perfect! 2 min to Uni, 2 min to city center
Gym very close!
It’s been fun and stressful. Whenever I needed assistance with assignments I always had help from UCB. Meeting new persons from all over the world has been a great experience.
Have various career employment fairs and hired helps with getting you employment
Most: very international and not many exams Least: nothing
Need to do more for students
Yes it is good
Needs improvement but overall it’s a 6
Really fun and great, freshers was good but I am a bit poor now, amazing friends and people to talk to, the lessons are interactive and engaging. Assignments are well spaced out I love meeting new people and friends and have deffo made friends for life from this experience
Hired @ ucb is great, and unitemps aswell
Most: the lessons are fun, lecturers make it fun and easy to follow Least: the times of lessons could be more spaced out
Fun, lots of events, activities to do I love the ping pong table
Really good, accessible and new locations and gorgeous buildings I’m proud to be apart of it
Yes, lovely amenities and close to the city centre and they have lots of food options
Really good, I’m not apart of the teams but they look really good
