Friendly and welcoming students' union with lots of support available.
I’ve had a really positive experience at my university. The location is one of the things I love most, it’s right in the centre, close to shops, transport links, and everything you need day-to-day. The support available is also amazing. The wellbeing team is genuinely helpful, my academic advisor has been consistently supportive, and having direct access to the head of year makes a huge difference when I need guidance. I’ve always felt that there are people I can go to whenever I need help. Another thing I really appreciate is the number of opportunities to build skills and gain experience. There are lots of part-time roles, including student ambassador jobs, which make it easy to earn money while developing confidence and employability. There are so many ways to get involved and grow both personally and professionally. Overall, it’s a supportive, well-located university with great opportunities , I really recommend it.
Everything is close to each other
Great uni with amazing tutors and fellow students
The facilities are good and the people there are really polite and welcoming. The distance from each building is not too far in the city centre campus, making it easy to navigate and get from class to class.
Sheffield Hallam is super accessible for commuters as the uni is right over the road from Sheffield Train Station. As well as this, for those who prefer to take the bus, the Sheffield Bus Interchange is only a five minute walk from the main building. Every building has elevators as well as vending machines so you don’t have to make a huge trek for a drink. Overall 10/10 in my experience!
Amazing university
The best aspect is the support from uni staff, however there could be more help provided with assignments
Best part is the course, tutors and level of activity we receive on the course (field trips etc.) The worst part is the students Union, there is very little to do
More support from student union
Redmires is great! Little cold like
I wish we would have more careers support and relevant to the work skills. The programms right now is very messy of which and how skills are provided.
The university has state-of-the-art facilities like the 24/7 libraries which provide an excellent learning environment, and there are various support services and a wide range of student-run clubs and societies, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment. I also appreciate that Sheffield is an affordable student city for living costs, rent and food. However, the focus on practical work can lead to a demanding schedule with multiple project deadlines close together, and some lectures can feel fast-paced. I've personally encountered issues with staff attendance (e.g., missed lectures) and less engaging teaching methods like overreliance on powerpoints.
Everything is good
No complaints from me I enjoy the uni a lot
It’s the best university in the UK staff are great
I think it’s great, I love the teaching and all the people that make this place great. This 200 pounds would really help me
It’s amazing
The worst is the learning to learn module because it is boring and long winded. The best is meeting new people and making friends

Good student support system. But the University could do with a lot of improvement in general. Lectures, facilities and buildings for STEM subjects.
A lot of the lectures are at the most inconvenient time and place. Slides are outdated and it feels like the lecturer talks at you. Labs aren’t great because they give you a list of instructions but it feels like you don’t learn anything so it’s pointless.
Wouldn’t recommend. Our kitchen was in shambles for a month and the maintenance team was unhelpful. Moved to a private accom studio and everything is perfect.
