I love the area of Worcester which was a big aspect of why I chose to study here. I’d love there to be a small library on St John’s campus ideally as it can be annoying to walk to city in order to use the Hive. However I love Pierson as a study centre, I think that’s my favourite place to study. There are many clubs and societies available to join which is great. The support available for students is also good, as we have a personal tutor available for meetings. Overall I recommend the uni to anybody as it’s very welcoming and easy to settle into.

I love sociology as it’s classroom based, with lots of group discussion and reflection. It really helps to get a more well rounded understanding of the subject as the opinions of others is so important. My lecturers in sociology are lovely and approachable, and extremely helpful with any questions. Psychology feels a bit different for me personally, as it’s mainly taught in lecture theatres. I’ve found it a bit difficult to keep up with the workload for psychology as the content is fact based with not a lot of room for opinion - discussions rarely take place in my lessons. Some of the content is interesting to learn however there are many aspects of the subject that don’t interest me, and it’s making me think about the option of dropping this subject.

The location is great as it’s only a short walk to my lessons on campus, as well as the study centre. The WiFi isn’t the best in halls and the reception for your phone comes and goes. I believe it’s too expensive for what we get, the kitchen amenities are outdated and when I arrived many things were already broken. We had to get a new fridge as ours stopped working within the first few weeks. The room is nice and spacious and the en suite is excellent.
