Worcester’s teaching faculty is a mix of senior academics and professional practitioners, all of whom are highly qualified and widely experienced. GET PROSPECTUSEntry requirements to the University of Worcester vary on a course-by-course basis, and specific admission criteria can be found on the course information pages of the university website. The university believes that access to higher education should be as accessible as possible, and accepts many alternative pathways to entry, in additional to the usual route of applying through the UCAS points system.
Applications are considered by the Admissions Team on an individual basis. Any students who do not meet the entry requirements are still encouraged to apply, the university of Worcester offers a range of Foundation degrees aimed at bringing students up to the required entry standard. The university considers an entire application in addition to grades and qualifications. Some of the accepted qualifications include BTEC, GCE, English Baccalaureate and more.

ASK A QUESTIONThe four Worcester campuses have a variety of student halls of residence to choose from. These are comfortable, safe and located within beautiful surroundings. First-year students are guaranteed accommodation, as long as Worcester is their first choice and their application is received by the 31st of May deadline.
There is a range of housing options to suit all preferences and budgets such as shared kitchen facilities and en-suite rooms. All university-run accommodation has on-site laundry facilities, high-speed internet, gym membership and contents insurance.
Some rooms are specially adapted for wheelchair users and all accommodation has 24-hour security and emergency assistance. It’s no surprise then that the University of Worcester was voted in the top 10 for student accommodation (Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019).

The University of Worcester prides itself on being a welcoming and inclusive community, dedicated to supporting students with their transition into higher education and beyond. Every undergraduate student is assigned a personal academic tutor throughout their studies, meeting at least four times per year. This enables students to get personalised advice and guidance on their learning.
Students can also reach out to Firstpoint, the university’s dedicated support team who are on-hand to provide advice on academic and personal issues such as finance, budgeting, childcare, accommodation and disability support.
The Counselling and Mental Health Service offers immediate support to students in need. An initial STAR appointment (Support, Triage, Advice, Referral) is required to offer effective support to students.
The university also offers wellbeing initiatives such as Pets as Therapy dogs, ‘fancy a cuppa’ informal support sessions and workshops run by the counselling service and NHS professionals.

VISIT WEBSITEWorcester offers a comprehensive range of high-quality degree programmes, and has received particular praise for its curriculum in areas of healthcare and medicine. Opening in 1946 as a teacher training college, the university has a 75-year heritage of education and research.
Work experience placements are an important part of all training courses to prepare students for the professional world. Worcester’s healthcare and medicine courses are taught in collaboration with the NHS, designed with an emphasis on providing ample clinical experience throughout a student’s course including work placement opportunities. On most courses, students can tailor module selection to fit their chosen specialism.
The university received a silver TEF rating with feedback from the review panel who said the university “delivers high quality teaching, learning and outcomes for its students” and “consistently exceeds rigorous national quality requirements for UK education”.
The University of Worcester’s Students' Union (SU) is a thriving, independent body which organises much of the annual social calendar, while promoting the welfare and educational development of all students. The SU has four duties:
Promoting students’ academic interests: Elected officers and volunteer course reps represent the student voice, creating a constructive dialogue with the academic faculty and university management.
Promoting students’ wellbeing: The SU provides friendly and helpful support to all students who need it.
Creating opportunities to develop students’ skills: Skills workshops and career enhancing events are provided throughout the year, as well as volunteering and work experience opportunities.
Providing activities to enhance the student experience: The SU manages the university’s 75+ clubs and societies. They also organise a Welcome Week celebration and a regular programme of social events in the SU bar, The Hangar.

In fact, 94.6% of Worcester graduates are in work within 15 months of graduating (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020). The university is heavily involved in current research to ensure students receive the most industry-relevant teaching, ensuring that they’re equipped with the knowledge to succeed in their chosen field.
The university also maintains close relationships with local and regional employment providers and students have many opportunities for internships and work placements while studying, as well as the option to study abroad.
Students can get support and advice from the Careers and Employability department on campus to help with their career progression, as well as connect with Worcester’s expanded network of professional alumni. Graduates can continue to use this service even three years after leaving the university.

The University of Worcester understands the cost of higher education and that this may be a barrier for some students. Fortunately, the university offers several scholarship and bursary options each year to ensure that students have the financial security they need to succeed academically.
Scholarships and bursaries are awarded on both merit and need-based criteria. Applicants are encouraged to check their eligibility and any key dates or deadlines on the university website. Prospective students looking to enrol onto nursing, midwifery and medical degrees may be eligible for a non-repayable and non-means-tested government grant of up to £5,000 per year.

As a result of Brexit, new students from the EU (with some exceptions) will no longer have access to home fees in the UK. However, the University of Worcester has decided that EU students starting their studies in 2021/22 and 2022/23 will continue to be eligible for home fees.

As well as a wide range of courses on offer, University of Worcester also has loads of clubs and societies you can join during your studies. Joining societies is just one of the many ways you can tailor your experience at University of Worcester to suit you.
With a degree in a subject you love, you'll find more doors opening to jobs you'll love. Studies have also shown that graduates earn more on average compared to non-graduates.
If you want to continue to pursue education, you'll be able to progress to postgraduate study once you've got your undergraduate degree. You could opt to study a master's, or even get a PhD.
Living in uni halls means you'll have access to communal areas including kitchen and dining facilities. These facilities offer you plenty of opportunity to socialise with the students you're living with.
You'll also find all bills are included in your rent, and yes, that includes WiFi. Rent also covers security and maintenance. There are accessible rooms available in halls that have been adapted for disabled students.
