Best: A diverse community where you can easily find like minded people through societies and clubs. There are many societies available, and many exec opportunities available, both smaller roles and more intensive ones. The teaching is very good, with plenty of support given through weekly small group teaching by both the maths and physics departments. The maths department supervisors are 4th year students which makes for quite a close knit group. The facilities, especially the arts centre, the FAB and the maths departments are very good. All the lecture theatres I've seen are nice. People are very open minded and friendly from what I've seen, and older years are more than happy to share their experiences with 1st years. Good gym and swimming pool, pool tables, games hub, bar, club etc. on campus Worst: En suite campus accomodation is quite expensive Out of the city centre so generally you have to take a bus to buy things other than groceries, and to get to the train station Food options on campus are limited, the food trucks are quite pricey, and the only chain food place is pret

Best 2 hours small group (4-5) per week, 1 hour class per week (15-ish people), around 15 hours lectures. I feel comfortable and confident asking questions in lectures, especially the maths ones since we're in a smaller group (around 150) compared to physics lectures (300). Lecturers are always happy to answer questions after the lecture. Tutors can always be emailed regarding any questions. On top of lectures, online programming module, which makes sense since coding is impossible to teach through traditional lectures and better taught through doing it yourself. Good blend of blackboard lectures, and more real world applications with projected power points. Course content is mainly good though the structure means the workload can get quite heavy, and we have to teach ourselves certain bits. Many assignments, weekly, no mid term break, but it does definitely help solidify content, without this ongoing practice exam revision would be far too overwhelming. Could be better communication between the maths department and the physics department at times, regarding certain maths used in physics modules and whether we have covered them previously in a maths module.
