The campus has great facilities and I like the way it has a campus feel, everything is so close together. Well-being services are spoken about a lot by tutors and staff. The overall city it’s based in isn’t great, it lacks a lot of care. However, as a university I would recommend it to anyone.

The course content is varied and offers a good range of subjects within Literature. I’ve only been disappointed with one lecturer in my experience, the rest have been supportive and knowledgeable of their teachings. Tutors are also accessible and have their free times advertised for student help.

The only downfall of my halls was that it was very expensive for what it was. It was £620 a month for a basic room and a shared bathroom with 1 other person. Other than this, the accommodation was well equipped and served its use whilst I was there.

Best: I love the fact I’ve come to a campus uni. Everything is so close and mostly accessible! The lecturers are fantastic and the people they have running the SU this year are absolutely amazing! Shoutout to Nifemi for being so kind and helpful. Worst: Other than the new builds, the buildings look a little dated. They’re very confusing, and despite the Find Your Way app, neurodivergent people really struggle with reading maps and getting lost so it’s something to think about. Because the campus is so hilly, it’s not the best for wheelchair access and I don’t think they should be advertising themselves as truly accessible, people with wheelchairs should be made aware of this.

Best: My course is absolutely brilliant. The lecturers are fun and engaging and they always challenge you to think more. Seminars for literature are FANTASTIC!! Getting a group so small really helps me engage with the lecturer and have debates with people who are usually too shy to speak because classes are so big. Worst: I wish my literature seminars were two hours! Even an hour and a half! It is not enough time for a proper discussion. Being between two departments (LIFTS, and Lang and Ling) is a little bit of a nightmare and I kind of wish it was advertised earlier

Best: Location, without a doubt. It is SO close to everything. And not too noisy too! The room size is also perfect for me and the beds are lovely and comfortable. Desk is nice and big and i have to say a massive thank you for the amount of storage space! The showers and bathrooms are a bit on the small side but they’re all cleaned really well by the staff and stocked up and I couldn’t be more grateful :) Worst: Whereas I am very very grateful for all of the work the staff do for the accommodation, I sometimes feel like I can’t be comfortable within my own halls that I do pay quite a lot of money for because there are so many people with key access to the kitchen. People come in unannounced a lot and it makes us all really uncomfortable. Also, whenever fire alarms go off, the security take so long to arrive? Surely that’s not very safe? The other morning it was in the minuses and the alarm went off at 4am and we waited a good 5-7 mins maybe longer for the security to arrive.
