There is a lot of building work on campus so it doesn't look great and it's not very accessible. However, I've felt that the support from staff in my school has been excellent and they really want us to succeed. The facilities are all a bit spread out so it can be hard to find them but there are plenty of options. There have been loads of events and things happening already from the SU and other organisations.

The staff are great, the building is well provisioned and there's a lovely café! I can't comment on work placements yet as I haven't come across them in my course so far.

I love the University of Sussex because of the effort it puts in to make studies an exciting and enjoyable experience for me. Lessons are not one directional but conversational, we are encouraged to contribute our knowledge to the lessons. I love the fact that at every point in the school environment, there are many places I can stop to sit and read. It makes studies very convenient for me. The library here feels like a whole village on its own. There are so many reading materials and different forms of individual and group study space that fits everyone’s purpose. This makes visiting the library not feel very formal for me but, but convenient just like my room. I love to explore the materials there. I love the steady flow of emails in my school mail and the announcements and information via Canva. It helps me never to miss an information or guide on something I need to do. I really do love this practice. The students Union here is a vibe. They are super proactive. Recently, I contested and election here and won as Councillor. This is a welcoming start for me because I’ve only been here for about one month and I love the engagement already. They are always planning, helping, and supporting. There are lots of clubs, societies, fun groups, and career hub to fit everyone’s needs and interests. This has been helpful to me too. I love how approachable the lecturers here are. I love how friendly, inclusive, and respectful the staff and learners are. I particularly admire the effort that my faculty, the Institute of Development Studies is putting in to deliver world-leading developmental lessons and research. Sussex is an enjoyable place to study.

I admire the effort that my faculty, the Institute of Development Studies is putting in to deliver world-leading developmental lessons and research. The lecturers are approachable, friendly, and well cast in knowledge. They encourage us to contribute to the conversations during lessons. They are always willing to help in guiding learners like myself. The only part I do not like about my course is that it has no provision for work placements or internships. I believe that learners in this course can be allowed to go for placements in NGOs, charities, and other cooperate settings. This would help us.

Everything is amazing here in Sussex, Brighton city, except the cost of living. Rent is expensive and getting a gaurantor that earns so much before you can rent here is overwhelming. However, the university is helping to solve the situation by providing us with a range of university-owned accommodation that fits various accommodation needs (en-suite, studio, single room, etc) and also fits different affordable budget. The good thing is, with the university-managed accommodation, we do not have to find a gaurantor or pay any caution fee. Payment is also flexible and broken down to allow students pay in installments when they can, in agreement with the school housing policy. I love it here because I stay at Northfield, a university accommodation.

I have more shelves and drawers in the room that I could ever use. I have enough space to contain all my books and wares. I love the weekly cleaning support we get from the sanitation experts that come around. Everywhere is safe even at nights.
