The University of Sussex tries really hard to make sure all students feel included and heard; and it is paying off. I have personally enrolled in a paid program to support the decision making of the APP due next year, and it is nice to have my voice listened to. The lecturers are attentive and are always open to chat, with allotted in-office hours for drop-in sessions to discuss the course/any difficulties. They make sure that you understand the course, and offer any additional help if it is required. One downside of the university is that currently, a lot of it is under reconstruction, which has made it look like a building site. Roads are being closed which disrupts deliveries to the accommodations, and overall makes it look untidy and unclean. But, the new things they have/are building will make the university look more modern, so the construction will be worth it in the long-run. Along those lines, the Student Centre which was opened a few years ago has really made the university a nice place to work and study; as it gives another place to do more collaborative work which is not possible in the library. It is a modern space built to make students comfortable, with a café and assistance desk for general enquiries. It is always reliable to have Wi-Fi has well, which in the accommodations, is a bit flaky. Overall there isn't much that needs to be improved, except keeping more roads open and having consistent and strong Wi-Fi!

The contact hours are excellent, with enough time per week to ask lecturers questions if something didn't make sense in a previous seminar/lecture from the same week. My course is completely taught in-person, with no online/blended learning, which has really benefitted me with getting me out of my accommodation and exploring the university campus. I have found places in the university that are open to me as a result of this, including the Global Studies lounge which I would not have known about if I had not had in-person teaching in the labs nearby.

Having lived in Swanborough for a year already, going into my second year; I can say it's one of the best accommodations. With all bills included, and its location in the middle of campus a mere 5 minute walk to the library, it really is great. It is aging a bit, with some signs of this in the amenities like the kitchen, it does need a bit of TLC. However, nothing is broken and the university are beginning to put new hobs, carpet and furniture in the flats to keep them up-to-date and clean. Weekly, the kitchen is cleaned by the lovely cleaning staff, and monthly the en-suits are cleaned. This is especially good as not many universities offer this service, and it has most definitely kept the en-suits in working order for longer. Any problems with the accommodation are quickly fixed by popping down to the office and reporting issues/getting new kettles/toasters if broken, and they are attentive and kind. The rooms are big compared to some of the newer accommodation, which is a nice bragging point when other students boast about their brand new double beds in East Slope. Overall, the only thing which would make this accommodation better would be better Wi-Fi! In the 2 months I have lived here this year, there have been 2, 24hr+ Wi-Fi outages which is irritating, but thankfully the Student Centre and library have always-working Wi-Fi, and with a short 3 minute walk, you're back online.

The campus is very inclusive, the staff and students are very open and friendly. Some buildings could be renovated and the cafeteria is a bit expensive but overall a very good experience

The course is taught with both lectures and seminars, however I think it would benefit from more contact hours and classes per week. The lectures are sometimes quite rushed and it would be better to have more lectures where we can actually delve deeper into the subjects and practice.

The location is excellent, close to everything and with private bathrooms which is a plus, however for the price the building should be renovated as the rooms are very minimal and some things are damaged and the kitchens are functional but quite old
