While being a smaller university, The University of Gloucestershire still provides all the facilities and has most resources that you would expect to find anywhere else, the student life is fun, I personally came from a small village, so moving to Cheltenham was a big step up for me. Nightlife was very fun however, as most freshers do, I overdid it. This led me to being oversaturated in regards to where to go for a night out. However, the incredibly diverse and wonderful students, many of whom I have befriended make sure that I am never truly bored. Also, the wide range of bars, pubs and shops around the Cheltenham are great job opportunities and I have found a job I absolutely love. All your basic necessities are never more than a 20 minute walk away from wherever you are staying/studying which encourages us all to walk more rather than take public transport, which, is also very connected with some buses running until 4 in the morning to campus'. My lecturers are very open about their availability, and will always direct you in the right direction if you need something. Our Student Helpzones, Career Coaches and other resources available to us are very welcoming, and helpful if you need extensions or advices regarding CV's and career directions respectfully.
There are very few criticism's I have about this University, I have now been here for almost a year and a half at the time I am writing, this having previously completing a foundation year here. The one main concern I have right now, doing a Fine Art course, is the cost of the materials I need in order to carry out my art, some students have experienced their resources having to be used for performance art pieces and them being ruined as a result which, in this cost of living crisis, is simply unnecessary and difficult to deal with. In the student house I am living in, rent is going to go up next terms and I imagine, the term after that as well so maybe the university could introduce a temporary grant for students that are really struggling this year, unable to heat houses and barely able to buy food.
Overall I am enjoying my time here at the University of Gloucestershire, and look forward to my coming years here, there are a few kinks that could be ironed out however, the student and lecturers I have met have been nothing but accommodating to my needs, and a delight to be around.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
My time living on Park Campus was probably the best year of my life, the people I was surrounded by were incredible, many of whom I live with this year as well. We are encouraged to be tidy with the little rating system the university has in place. The accommodation gets cleaned every week and every issue we had with the Villa was dealt with in a timely fashion. Campus security walking around all hours of the day made us feel safe, and they were also very friendly and approachable.
