I have loved my time at Gloucester uni, and i am so glad i made the decision to study here :) It has been the best 3 years of my life and i recommend UOG to everyone!

Fantastic facilities for the different courses

Nightlife is pretty good and the shopping in cheltenham or at gloucester quays is great. Also the rugby and horse racing bring huge events

I love my course so much and the lecturers are fantastic, so helpful and interesting. Best thing about the uni!

Our student house is perfect!

My university experience so far has been amazing. The uni is very supportive, my family lives overseas so the support from university with this has been amazing, i feel as though there are loads of facilities I can access. The focus on students and mental health is evident at the uni, with loads of support and access to facilities. Anything we have concerns on during the course we can speak to our course rep, to see if any changes will be made. I constantly take the bus, which has deals with the university for discount tickets. As I use the bus regularly it’s really useful. There is no direct regular bus route from where I live to uni, so I have to walk 10/15 minutes from the bus stop through town. For my course there are loads of amazing facilities for our crime scene module including a house, car and green area. Using these facilities every 3/4 weeks for practicals. My course currently for exams, is assignment and practical based. Which is really good for me personally as I get anxiety around sitting exams.

The course is really enjoyable, anything that could be a sensitive topic lecturers do give trigger warnings and all lecture topics are posted on moodle. The course is mainly taught in person, with practicals and seminars every few weeks. Currently we have one online lecture due to the lecturer being overseas. We have lectures 4 days a week, each week any reading is posted with the lecture powerpoint. So it’s specified to the lecture.

The only issue is bus strikes that effect the bus schedule getting into uni. The safety is improving, the police made an app called flare which you can anonymously report any areas there are issues or incidents. I do feel safe just certain issues such as spiking which is an issue around the UK not specific to Gloucestershire.
