Excellent support from all staff

I love feeling part of the uni community. It's everything I hoped it would be. The library is peaceful and the staff there couldn't be more helpful. The research facilities are good and there's always enough resources.The campus is undergoing huge improvements and while the upgraded facilities are exciting and modern, the original features reek history. The restaurant serves wholesome reaonably priced meals and the 3 coffeeshops are snug and homely with staff who act like family when you appear. The Student Union bar is rough and ready with friendly staff but could do with upgrading. I did attend a welsh lesson but I'm intermediate level and all classes were beginner. The quiet and meditation spaces above the library have been of real benefit to me. Overall, what makes it a great place to study is that I do feel that everyone there is invested in my success, not just academically but in all aspects of my life

The course so far has beeen good but hard. Last minute timetable changes have made life more difficult than it needs to be. Most lecturers are very helpful but I have had some emails not answered. The switch from moodle to Teams is difficult to manage and the layout of moodle is difficult to get used to meaning often I arrive at lessons unprepared. Some asynchronous material is well planned and useful but some is long-winded and useless. Face to face classes are packed too full of information in the science subjects to take it all in and given that a lot of students have little biology background can make it difficult to take it all in. Personal tutors have been supportive and when other issues are brought up, staff do try to adjust accordingly to meet the need. It just requires constant liaison which is extra effort. For me the bast aspect of the course has been the roleplay which I thought I would hate but is great, well delivered and fun. The worse aspect is mock exams/assessments being held too closely to the actual exams meaning little time to know what to expect.
