The support I can’t ask for more, staff are always there to support
Not much uni life, could be more social events to encourage to bring students together. There is so much support provided for anything you worry about. The prices of food and drinks are very expensive considering we're student, I paid around £7.50 for 1 sandwhich, a pack of crisps and a red bull, absurd.
There are lots of resources and study help around the campus which is very helpful. My favourite feature is the outdoor study pods which are great in the summer for enjoying the nice weather and getting work done. I think one of the improvements that could be made is having more outdoor areas
It’s friendly and there is help for areas you may be struggling in . Lectures are engaging and the staff are all fabulous ☘️

One of the best aspects of my experience at Wrexham University has been the supportive and approachable lecturers. The teaching staff are genuinely invested in students’ progress and are always willing to offer guidance, whether that’s academic support or advice about future career pathways. The smaller class sizes also create a more personal learning environment, where you feel known as an individual rather than just a number. This makes it a great place to study because it builds confidence and encourages open discussion. Another positive aspect is the strong sense of community. The campus feels welcoming and friendly, and it’s easy to build relationships with peers. The practical elements of the course and real-world application of learning have also been particularly valuable in preparing for future employment. An area for improvement would be increasing student input and engagement in student life and the Students’ Union. While there are opportunities available, greater communication, more varied events, and more chances for students to have a voice in decision-making would enhance the overall university experience. Strengthening the visibility and activity of the Students’ Union could help create a more vibrant campus life and encourage wider participation. Overall, Wrexham University offers a supportive academic environment with dedicated staff, but expanding and promoting student life opportunities would make the experience even stronger.
- the university has really good transport links with 2 train stations within walking distance, regular buses & a bus station within walking distance - the university is very close to the city centre, supermarkets & retail parks - sports facilities with a pool are within walking distance and there is a gym onsite - most programme staff are supportive and passionate about their subject - the student support functions are excellent and health & wellbeing is prioritised - the university could be improved with better parking facilities for those who can’t travel by public transport - the wifi on campus is notoriously poor & this seriously impacts students and staff - while the facilities are really improving, there is still a way to go to make them all fit for purpose - the university looks to be eco-friendly & promoting sustainable living by having recycling receptacles around campus but needs to be more proactive in encouraging people to bring their own cups etc & should be installing solar panels and wind turbines where possible. - better links with industry need to be fostered to ensure that courses are fit for purpose and for the future to ensure economic growth further the region and so that graduates have usable degrees
It great to commute into if the university is close to home. I'm not sure I'd want to live on campus - not much seems to happen.

Local to where I live and where my placements will be which is beneficial because my course is 50% theory 50% practical. Staff nice. Building always clean. Canteen nice and fresh food. Support systems available although I haven’t needed to use them. The library selection could be improved however I understand why it is limited due to the size of the university.
Staff are supportive to ensure student do well in assessments. Having a mentor you can talk to about things you are struggling with, that is not related to your course.
The student support from lecturers can be fantastic and we’re very lucky in nursing to have a great simulation suite. It’s a shame we don’t get to use it very often. I think the university could be improved by the food that is offered in the canteen. Sometimes it can be expensive and not great quality.
The facilities are poor, canteen is overpriced, poor quality and extremely busy but unfortunately is the main option for food. No facilities to bring food and heat it up which is a shame considering everyone is struggling financially at the moment. It would give people another option rather than spending money eating at university everyday. Can only speak on the social work staff, but they are amazing. Super supportive, helpful and understanding. The whole team is a credit to the university.
Very good uni
Best - the experience with lectures is personalised. You aren’t just a person in a room full of others. Everyone knows everyone. Worst - social life and student life isn’t there. Dull.
Great Librarian and IT support, who solved every technical issue :-) Very friendly tutors with a supportive approach and lectures which are very interactive and very well prepared. All laboratories are well-equipped. Regular communication with the module lecturer makes it easier to follow the learning program.

Smaller cohorts allow for better learning. Has a great focus on the Welsh language which is really important. It could be improved by investing into better facilities on campus, which is slowly happening, however I've been studying here for 4 years now and only minor improvements have been made. The new study spaces are excellent and the cafeteria is improving. Wi-Fi does not reach everywhere in certain blocks on campus and many floors and classrooms are seriously out-dated. Student support and student voice are amazing, you do feel like you are being heard when problems are reported.

It’s a great place to study because the academic environment is supportive, the teaching quality is strong, and there are plenty of opportunities to grow through projects, events, and collaboration with classmates. The campus community also makes it easy to feel included and motivated. It could be improved by streamlining administrative processes, offering clearer communication, and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy. More practical learning opportunities and better support during exam periods would also make a big difference.
Best aspects The course offered a good balance of theory and practical learning, and the blended teaching style made it flexible and easy to follow. The lecturers were approachable and supportive, and the regular contact hours helped me stay on track. Worst aspects Some modules felt a bit rushed, and communication about deadlines or changes could have been clearer. At times, online sessions lacked engagement, and the workload during certain periods was heavier than expected.
