Studying at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has been an incredibly positive and rewarding experience overall. The Glenside Campus, where most health-related courses take place, is well equipped with modern simulation suites, realistic clinical practice rooms, and interactive learning spaces that prepare you really well for real-life nursing situations. The facilities make it easy to gain hands-on experience in a safe and supportive environment before going out on placement. The location is also ideal. Glenside is a peaceful and green campus with great transport links to the city centre. It feels like a close-knit community, especially for healthcare students, and it's easy to make friends across different courses. The university promotes diversity and professionalism, which is especially important in healthcare education. The student life is enjoyable too. Glenside isn't as busy as Frenchay, there are still plenty of social activities, and societies to get involved in. The Students' Union is active and provides great opportunites for volunteering, joining societies, and representing student voices. They also offer wellbeing activities and placement-related advice which many nursing students find helpful.

The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Children and Young People) course is designed to balance both theoretical learning and practical experience, which helps us build strong clinical skills, confidence, and professionalism from the very beginning. The course covers everything from child development and safeguarding to complex paediatric conditions and family-centred care. The modules are clearly linked to the NMC standards, and they're taught in a way that connects theory directly to real-life nursing practice. I've found that the academic side really prepares you for placements and helps you understand the rationale behind every nursing decision you make. The lecturers and teaching staff are outstanding, most are experienced nurses themselves, so they bring real-world insight into the classroom. They're approachable, passionate, and always willing to support us. Overall, this course is an amazing pathway for anyone passionate about caring for children and young people. It provides strong academic knowledge and really supportive teaching.

UWE Bristol's Glenside campus is quite a serene environment. Coming from a country that is quite different from the UK, I can say it beats my expectations by far. The facilities and resources for the practical training and overall courses are top notch and up to date. The Lecturers are friendly, supportive and always willing to assist with the overall learning experience. It's more than I could ask for honestly, but it would be really helpful if enough support was given to navigate the venue for each lecture and other places on campus as a newbie stepping into a new environment. I don't really have a worst experience and I hope not to because everyone I've met has been kind and respectful.

Adult Nursing is quite a challenging course like many others but it's rewarding because it opens the door to endless opportunities and making an impact in society. The course is taught mostly in class with some days dedicated to learning practical skills. The best part of my course is the opportunity to learn soft skills such as communication, Empathy, Teamwork etc that are useful not just in nursing but in many areas of life as well. What I find the most challenging is the placement. Coming into an already functional system as a student in practice can be really daunting and overwhelming. There's also the need to adapt and be flexible which can be quite difficult sometimes. However challenges always have a way of shaping our perspectives about life.

My Uni hall is quite nice and has the basic necessities. I must say it's absolutely worth the money. The water supply is stable, the WiFi has been mostly good and the kitchen which is my absolute favourite has everything I need, I love to cook and bake so basically the Oven and cooker is just right for me. Also, the view from my room's window is breathtaking especially when it's twilight, it feels really nostalgic and calm. Each room has an automatic heater to keep the rooms at a constant temperature but it would've been better to have a heater I could control at will to keep me warm when I'm cold not until when my room feels cold enough before it turns on. I also wish I didn't have to pay for my laundry, especially when I payed double the price to dry my clothes and turns out the dryer was faulty. Overall, the halls are clean, with excellent systems put in place to make it comfortable and there are no disturbances except you have a flatmate that's quite into loud music LOL.
