Having been founded in 1968 and now with around 2,700 students enrolled, Newman University Birmingham's considered a small-sized, modern uni.
It's a campus uni that's set on one site, in a quiet residential area around eight miles outside of Birmingham's city centre. The campus is arranged around inner blocks of trees and lawns, giving a green and natural feel, while recent investment has made sure that facilities are attractive, modern and state-of-the-art. Students enjoy the tranquil environment that's created but can also take advantage of England's second city, which is easy to get to.
Newman's compact campus has everything you'll need as a student, like study facilities and areas, food and drink establishments, sports facilities, and the Students' Union bar. However, when you're looking for a bit more variety, Birmingham can provide it. An exciting and varied nightlife scene, cultural activities and world-class shopping at the Bullring Centre are a short journey away. There's also plenty of professional sport to enjoy, including two big football clubs and the Edgbaston cricket ground, as well as the NEC and the Utilita arenas.
From Birmingham, you can easily access other major UK cities by train and Birmingham International Airport can connect you with the rest of the world.
