Masters degrees and PGCEs typically ask applicants to hold a good honours degree (2:2 or above) in a relevant subject. Edge Hill is committed to broadening access to knowledge for all, so those who may not hold these requirements can still be admitted onto programmes by demonstrating professional experience in their chosen subject.
Depending on the subject, there may be additional entry requirements, which are detailed on the course page on the university’s website.

ASK A QUESTIONAlthough halls of residence places are not currently offered to postgraduate students, there’s plenty of accommodation options available in the local area.
Edge Hill’s accommodation team has an excellent relationship with private sector landlords and partnership accommodation in the area, along with house-hunting workshops and drop-in advice sessions to help students find a place to call home, particularly for those who are new to the area.
There is also an off-campus housing list which all students can utilise to help find other students looking for accommodation, this is released in January for the following September entry.

BOOK OPEN DAYStudying at Edge Hill is not just about obtaining a degree – everything is tailored towards building the knowledge and skills needed to achieve students’ chosen careers, making employability a key focus in every postgraduate programme.
No matter the course, students will be working with industry-standard facilities so that when they do complete their course and find a role, they will be working with the same tools and software they are already used to. And they’ll benefit from guest speakers too, who will offer perspective and experience on their own transition into working life.
There’s a dedicated careers team that offer various workshops based around employment skills, as well as individual support on a one-to-one level. They can help with guidance and interview practice, as well as connecting students to work experience opportunities.
The university works hard to help students meet with potential employers, and as a result 97.4% of taught masters graduates, and over 96% of PCGE graduates, are either working or in further study within 15 months of graduation (Graduate Outcomes data released 2023). Careers support is offered for up to three years after graduation.

Scholarships
Excellence Scholarships are awarded to prospective students who demonstrate determination, commitment and achievement outside of their studies, for instance in creative, enterprise, performance or volunteering, worth up to £2,000. Sports scholarships celebrate talent and achievement in sport offering up to £1,000 per year to enhance sporting performance.
Bursaries:
Department for Education bursaries available up to £28,000 to fund your teacher training.
Studentships
Research degree students have the opportunity to study for a fully funded MRes or doctorate, while gaining valuable teaching experience, by successfully applying for a graduate teaching assistant studentship.
Student Opportunity Fund
If students have an innovative idea that will develop their transferable skills and boost their employability, the Student Opportunity Fund offers up to £2,000 to help make it happen.
Tuition fees for postgraduate study vary depending on the qualification and faculty delivering the programme.
Full-time UK students per year: £4,625 - £7,000(MA/MSc); £12,000 (MBA); £2,340 (PGCert); £9,250 (PGCE); £4,400 - £7,000 (LLM/MRes); £4,700 (PhD)
MSc Midwifery, PGDip Nursing, MSc Physician Associate and MSc Nursing Pathways are all £9,250 per annum. Professional Doctorates are available on a part-time basis at £2,820
International Students per year: £13,500 (PGCE/MA/MSc/MRes/LLM); £14,500 (MBA); £14,000 (PhD)
Returning graduates of Edge Hill University may be eligible for a tuition fee discount between 20% and 50%.

There are three types of research degrees that can be studied full or part-time: Masters by Research, PhD and Professional Doctorate.
Select CPD and PGCert programmes at postgraduate level are available for distance learning, ideal for any students who don’t want to relocate due to their own personal needs or circumstances.
These courses are taught online through a mix of pre-recorded lectures and live tutorials. Students can also be assessed remotely, although some parts of the course may require students to travel to the university for individual assessments.
