Student gets assistance and support from several sources. In addition, the workshops by learning hub are so helpful for the final graduation project. Keeping the Labs open 24 hrs helped a lot to work on my dissertation and the assignments
Teesside University gave me 4 fantastic study years. I grew to love the campus and surroundings and though i encountered a few difficulties in my studies, the support i received allowed to successfully complete both my undergraduate degree and postgrad degree.
Brilliant uni! Course was ran by industry professionals so every bit of teaching was 100 pto date and relevant. Never had a problem with any aspect of uni life. Good buildings, great support.
Teesside University has a community feel about it. Lecturers genuinely care about how well you're doing at your course, they also always offer pastoral care when you attend meetings with them. In the Psychology department we have staff with impressive resumes and standing in the academic community. Teesside isn't a bad location, it's particularly back down south is poor but this is outdated.
Great University overall, everyone is friendly helpful and supportive. Gave me some of the best education and experiences in my life. The teachers are very supportive and seem to be on a very 1 to 1 friendly level with students, the campus is brilliant and is upgraded regularly, giving feedback about course structure and facilities is actually listened too as well.
Great uni, supports its students, gives many opportunities to help students improve, very happy to help. It provides students with homely accommodation for their first year and are great in helping students prepare for next years accommodation
This university is willing to take a staggering £9000/year from you, but you'd be lucky if you're in one day a week. Now I'm £40,000 in debt and haven't learnt a thing.
I have recently completed a BA(Hons) in Games Design at Teesside university. The facilities for the course were fantastic but the course itself is a complete let down. If you are planning to do the games design course you will leave university knowing how to make a games document, write an evaluation and learn UDK well enough to make a level in. The university is deluded to think the games design course prepares you for a job after uni, all games dev/design jobs require you to have in depth knowledge on C-sharp/C++ coding which the course doesn't even mention once! But instead waste time on unimportant subjects like history of games. If you are looking to become a games designer I strongly recommend you look into the other Game courses like coding, animation or Games art and come out with an actual degree that will get you a job in the industry. Please don't make the same mistake as the countless students I have seen these past 3 years and do a course that doesn't limit your potential and offers you actual skills to use in the games industry...
