Not really for those looking for big city life with variety in nightlife and a huge social scene. But a lovely place to live, you fall in love with it when living there. The university is a slight pain to get to if you live in town as both campuses are at the top of a hill, so bit of effort needed to make lectures! Excellent staff, union is lacking but facilities are there, but more appeal for nights out down in town now a days.
The town is a place which leaves a deep impression on the vast majority of its students. Former students seldom forget their time in Aberystwyth. There is something very different about this place. The university is by the by, it is located at the top of a large hill which I rarely venture to scale, but the town I will never forget.
Some modules do not have a vast range of sample exam papers for revision. Timetable is sometimes posted late making it tedious. But amazing place with amazing people
Not enough information given in regards to exams. Timetable published a bit late and can be subject to change quite often
The 24 hour library does not contain wi-fi making it very difficult to revise. Some accommodations only have internet access through an Ethernet cable which also costs £3 to purchase. Timetable is also always an issue as it is constantly changing at very late notice. Aside from that, generally a great university.
Having the best time of my life. Not just the social but the academic is also amazing. Everything here, from the course structure to the lecturers, is very welcoming and ideal. Just wish the uni was not too far from the sea front where a mass of students live. The weather can also be a let down at times
I have met some amazing people here, from both students to the locals. You receive assignment results very promptly. Timetable published very late and they are severe consequences for missing practicals and lectures. This is a major downside.
Wide range of modules available for each course allowing you to pursue various interests. A lot of societies available from the sports related to those dedicated to television shows. The individuals you are especially what makes your university experience worth it. The chance to meet people from a varied range of backgrounds has to be mentioned.
Lovey town, friendly locals and my course, Biology, is great. The lecturers are incredibly helpful and the use of online assessment is very ideal for most students. The night life might not be the most exciting but the people more than make up for it.
Great university. Plenty to do for the students, from the societies to clubs. The weather can be quite horrid, especially after the recent storms that have caused sea front student residences to be evacuated into emergency accommodations. Upon hearing that the council do not have enough money to fix the sea front as well, I am getting more disappointed in the town. The girls here can be real lookers, very good looking.
Really helpful in helping you find jobs. Frequent vacancy alerts. The town in itself does not have much going for it in terms of part time jobs. Very limited range and variety of shops available to students. Only two clubs available though there are numerous pubs around. The teaching on the whole is very ideal and is as would be expected. The course structure for Maths is not as I would have liked it to be. I find that as a first year student it is currently not challenging enough and I cannot wait to get stuck into the nitty gritty.

Aberystwyth Uni is a great place to be if you are on the right course. We have very strong Computer Science, International Politics and Sports Science courses with everything else coming up a little short. don't get me wrong, I am yet to hear of a course having a really bad reputation overall (certain people drop out of every course, that is bound to happen one way or another). We have some very experienced an interesting lecturers mixed in with a few very knowledgeable but deathly boring lecturers. The facilities are great for a smaller Uni. Wifi is always available and plenty of computers are spare throughout the town if you need to use them. Our sports facilities are plentiful and easy to access. We have hundreds of different student clubs and societies ranging from Rugby to Rockpooling. On the subject of social life, we have 56 pubs, bars and clubs in a few square miles each with their own signature drinks. Aber is a brilliant night out. I rate it over London and even Amsterdam!
