For a country and land based college the facilities are very good. Lecture theatres and library modernised and fit for purpose. Clean, well ran and well kept indoor and outdoor areas. Plenty of car parking spaces for day students. Has it's own zoo, farm and kennels, perfect for animal sector students. Study pods can be booked for meetings and studying. Set on the edge of a town, close to amenities but still in the country not rural. The right lecturers really put a lot of effort into supporting and getting to know students but this isn't consistent across all lecturers. Always student events going on on campus but nightlife in the town is there but nothing amazing.
I am very much liking the college experience, especially moving away from home, I have settled in really well to the college and am enjoying being here, and I look ford to the rest of the year here
I feel it can be a very supportive place with lots of clubs and friendly staff who treat you as adults but can joke around with you as well. This is a friendly environment to spend the first year of my course before moving to study at Chester .
So far I've had a great college experience, I'm very far from home and I've been made to feel welcome and that being here is my new home. I've enjoyed my course. The food isn't too bad. It's in a nice family area, great lectures and lecturers
It’s been amazing. Very stressful at times but I feel comfortable on campus and know where to go if I need help. There are multiple activities in the daytime and night for people to get involved with. And the free buses are great for people needing them
Good! Good people, interesting teachers and lectures. Social scene not here so much as it’s a small uni but it’s nice that you can know lots of people. Accommodation is great.
Really enjoyed it. Hard work and lecturers push us with extra work but great content. Made good friends, all staff are helpful. Subject is varied and keeps us interested.
My overall college experience so far is positive. I enjoy getting involved in the practical sessions. The lectures all have their own way of teaching to ensure that I am taking everything in.
It’s amazing, completely new and enjoying it, new terminology and experiences on the zoo or farm itself. Loving the practical side but coursework experience side
Although I have had extenuating circumstances which resulted in me having to miss lectures, the lecturers have made it very easy to catch up, taking time out of their day to make sure that I was able to catch up and answer any questions that I have about the content being taught during the time that I missed. I also had to attend hospital one night and UCR was very very good at making sure that I had company going there, helping me arrange an appointment with the doctors and being able to bring me back from the hospital after my appointment.
Overall, I have had a good uni experience so far as I’ve gained many skill from practicals at the zoo which will help in future work. As well as gained an extensive knowledge across a range of different modules. Also had the opportunity to go to South Africa where I volunteered at an animal sanctuary gaining husbandry experience, as well as, carried out ecological surveys and encountered an extensive range of species, which in turn will benefit in future careers.
so far my experience has been really good enjoyed both the social life and the work required for the course. Everyone is so lovey form the teaching staff to peers and friends
I have really enjoyed it, everyone is very supportive and friendly. The lectures have been fun and informative, and the help for students with disabilities is of a very high standard.
Absolutely fantastic, with a wholesome feeling. Friendships are always easy to come by too. Lecturers and other staff are very supporting, and due to the smaller cohort sizes for the likes of our course you find that lecturers can help support a lot more. I am a mature student and student representative and the liaison between students and staff is amazing, and changes are often made professionally and quickly.
The overall experience has been a blast, the campus is amazing and it's fun to be here, i learn new stuff every day. The zoo, farm and wildlife areas are incredible to explore
It's been a drastic step up from working 5 days a week to learning but they have helped me break into it. The lessons are interactive and help all types of learners. The tutors will go far to help you and you are not just a number there you are an individual
The faculty staff and content provide a high standard of industrial based knowledge and additional information to improve understanding. This and the support that can be provided if necessary help to settle quickly
I’ve loved it here. Specially as I’m learning about what I love. The staff are friendly and supportive. I’ve widened my knowledge greatly shame difficulties have occurred along the way.
So far uni has been great. The knowledge I have gained from the course is invaluable and the experiences I have had from the course are ones I won’t forget. If I could change one thing it would be less integration of HE and FE students

Wasn’t on this course but no option for the access I was on. Super unorganised, dates for assignments due and feedback was continuously moved making it hard to organise studies. Campus doesn’t allow for students to stay over holidays, making it hard to get a job. Campus is very much a college campus rather than uni students. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Unorganised, un enthusiastic lecturers. Though some are really great, some just didn’t want to be there and we could all notice.
Halls were okay, VERY over priced for what they are. Not the social atmosphere you’d hope from living in halls either
