The best thing is the support system in regards to facilitates with the library, CELT, student advice and more, they provide help with work and worries students may have, this really lightens the workload making essays and general feeling confused feel a lot less daunting. My worst experience has been with those in my accommodation running up and down the corridor, screaming and shouting, knocking on doors for fun and even playing football in the corridor, however, the accommodation office has nipped a lot of this behaviour in the bud, making my experience of living on campus a lot more relaxing.

Small campuses make for far more hands on support from teachers and other staff members, meaning it’s easier to get the answers to any queries or support with assignments. While there are minor issues, the university is proactive in ensuring that they are improving as much as possible.
It is a welcoming community and a very close knit university, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here socially and intellectually. The lecturers really care about their students and this shows through my learning. Overall an amazing university.
A very small, friendly community.
Great homely feel. Has lots of academic support and not difficult to get, just an online booking! Very tight nit community, lecturers and students know eachother by name and we can easily meet up for an informal meeting over a coffee to share Amy worries or concerns.
The best part of the uni is the support you get. Not only do you get support from student advice but from the lecturers as well. The lecturers go above and beyond to help out their students. I have disabilities and I feel fully supported and confident that my uni experience is the best it can be

All of the staff in every aspect of the uni that I have come across have always been polite, friendly and happy to help. As it’s a small uni it has a lovely community feel. If you are looking to join lots of societies there aren’t loads and the local bus service into town (which is down a big hill) is a bit hit and miss. But overall I’ve loved my time here!
Best - small community like university Worst - not loads of university accommodation or help when moving into 2nd year housing

Best for students who prefer a small university as it is basically like a really small college. Not many facilities compared to big universities, but staff are all friendly, have a lot of support in place if you need it. Lecturers actually get to know you as a student due to smaller classes. However no choice in modules etc here. If you want the social life etc of a real university, expect to be tagging along with a lot of University of Lincoln events. Societies at BGU are limited and mostly sports but UoL societies are very welcoming. If you want the small uni classes but the student lifestyle of a big uni you can make it work, it’s just. Unusual.
Everyone is super friendly and willing to have a chat and support you. With some aspects there may be a lack of communication regarding assignments other than FAQ boards which are not used all the time.

The University is a small community and students are made feel welcome in every way. Also been a mature student who has caring responsibilities i have carers agreement in place, so if am struggling or got issues I have a little leeway, but I try not to use or take advantage of what opportunities I have getting from this experience. However, the tutors are really understanding, and always their to help & support their students. I am pleased I choose BGU for my further education and development.
small community feel lots of support available
Both staff and students are friendly and welcoming, the University offers a range of resources to support students
This university has a family atmosphere to it as it is such a small campus, this also gives a more personal relationship with lecturers as lectures are quite small. The lecturers themselves are amazing, they are helpful, give you their time and their advice is immaculate. They make you feel like you are doing well and they’re extremely supportive. The on campus living is also very good, it makes walking to lectures easier as they are very close. Space given for studies is also more than enough. Overall, Bishop Grosseteste University is a lovely place to study and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
Small family feel campus, friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities.
The Libary is open till late, There is a cafe and canteen to eat plus vending machines, choice of accommodation, Cinema on campus. The location could be more in town but this obviously can’t be changed but more bus routes should be put in place. The student union isn’t the best but can still be fun at times. Sports hall able to hire out, enough toilets and smoking areas, lectures halls are equipped.
One of the primary things that makes BG such a great place to study is the small size of the university. Due to the smaller number of students, the lecturers are far more able to get to know their students, answer any questions they may have, and provide a fantastic learning environment. This is further contributed to by the excellent support services available, such as CELT, which are able to offer fantastic assistance to any students that require it. One of the few downsides of the university in my opinion is also tied into the small size however. Due to the smaller student population, the number of societies, clubs and so forth is relatively low. Personally, I do not know how this issue could realistically be resolved, at least without compromising to some degree the positive impact of the small size of the student body contributing to a fantastic and enjoyable study environment.
From the open day I knew I wanted to go to this uni because of the things they offered and how I felt safe while being there. The student support is amazing and once you make an appointment you get an email a few hours later confirming it. The student union has put many events on that had intreged many students, and the people who work there make you feel welcome and they are approachable. All of the staff are lovely and they are there to support you during your lecture and while you do your essays, the campus is clean and the cleaners are all amazing and make the campus look great. There are many facilities for students what are easily accessible.
The university provides a warm and welcoming environment, which is great for a first year student.

All staff are friendly and supportive. The on-site CELT team are fantastic for providing support with a academic writing.
Overall the course is presented in an easy to follow informative way. I enjoy the on campus taught sessions, compared to the on-line sessions. The on-line sessions whilst informative provide no opportunity for sharing ideas and discussion with friends.
