My experience of Brunel has been very positive overall. I have always felt included and found somewhere I feel like I belong. Very happy with the services that brunel supply and the facilities offered. The campus is a nice place to be and all the staff are very friendly. Plenty of events to keep the students entertained and plenty of opportunities for students to build their professional skills through the university.
University has a professional development centre. This is available to all students and they really help when applying for graduate schemes and placement jobs. Very good service, which I know isn't offered at all Universities across the country. The PDC will help with CV writing, interviewing techniques and will give you practice assessments.
Lectures are all have a good knowledge of what they are teaching and the content is well put together. I wish it could be a bit more interactive than just a powerpoint for most the lectures.
Student union is very good. Always putting on events that everyone can enjoy and take part in. The SU will always be pushing new inclusive ideas so no one gets left out. Being a very diverse University, sometimes it might be difficult to find events that include everyone, however, I think the SU does it will and is a good representative of the student body.
University's facilities are very good. Wide range of sports facilities including an Indoor athletics track. There is a wide range of food options on campus and there are constantly stalls being set up that offer fresh produce, cakes and boos. Library is quite large and there are separate facilities for people with disabilities or dyslexia.
Everything is located on campus so you're never more than 5 mins away from lectures or shops on campus. Uxbridge station is only a 15-20min walk away, where there is an underground station, which gives you direct access to central London. Their is a Lidl near by where you most students on campus will go shopping.
Brunel has a wide range of societies and sports. Several sports teams for almost any sport you can think of and their are constantly new societies being made. Sports is a big thing at the uni and even if you don't play sports, other non-sport related societies are always available e.g. gaming society and even a Drum and Bass society.
You are assigned a personal tutor when you join in first year who is your point of contact if you have any academic issues. Lecturers are also always available to contact via email and they all let you know when they are free for you to drop in and see them face to face. There are counselling services available at the university for any personal matters and they are very well advertised across the uni.
It’s been very good. Very good for me to enjoy my life and manage my time well. I’ve really enjoyed my course and am able to link it to the things that I like. I’ve also come across things I didn’t know I liked or was interested in.
I haven’t seen this yet but I think it’s fine
It’s taught in a friendly engaging way and we are asked to explore interesting ideas. I hate the time wasting. I am happy to have shorter lectures but more things to look up and explore on my own
Haven’t used or seen them.
I’m happy with the library. However it could be better. The styles keep breaking.
Yes. It’s all very local. But it’s a bit expensive if you don’t want to walk further.
It’s good but not very attended. At least the ones I use. I think people are too busy but I in my head think it could be better
It’s alright. I don’t always get it when I want but I think that is inevitable if I’m asking just before deadlines
It’s great and there are many opportunities to grow as a person and meet new people. I have taken part in sailing and I am part of the race team which is a bunch of funny people
They hold regular careers fairs and events
I like the creativeness of the workshops like CAD but the lectures are too spaced out
They are very visible around campus
They are clean and tidy
In terms of where it is to town centre, there are many ways to get there with buses and walking
There are loads of different sports such as sailing
We get a lot of feedback and there are opportunities to seek other help if needed
I’ve definitely had more issues than I would have liked. A lot of Improvements should be made. More support and information should be available for international students based on how much we have to pay for tuition. I do not feel I have got my money’s worth
Career fairs AMD JOB SHOP
Tutorials are great for more interactive learning. Masters level combined with 1st year bachelors is not ideal for masters students.
Not enough representation at orientation week and not enough support during student orientation
Could definitely benefit from more study spaces
University is in a good location but would be nice too have a larger grocery store closer
Variety of clubs is great but funding is poor. I play on the volleyball team and there is no coach and manny games have been cancelled
So far has been good. Disappointed with uni support for international students and lack of empathy for issues such as difficulties with setting up a bank account etc.
Job fairs, job shop and placement opportunities
Too much online content, though tutorials are helpful and give us practical skills
Facilities are good with decent advertising as to what is available. Would like to see more student representation and involvement in international orientation
Buildings are nice, accommodation is okay, library is pretty good
Yes- close-ish wall to town, easy to get to airport, lots of on campus accommodations
Lots of sports available. Sometimes difficult to know what options are available (freshers fair was a little overwhelming and crowded) but there is lots to choose from
Lots of opportunity for feedback and great support from program specific tutors and profs
I have enjoyed my experience at Brunel University very much. The support from my teacher’s has been fantastic and I have honed my craft of creative writing. The jobs fair was also very useful
Having seminars with Marianna
10/10 would recommend I enjoy the campus facilities and the sports available. The number of societies as well. I also enjoy my lectures. Lovely student vibe.....
It offers jobs on campus
It’s decent could be better
Perfect, I have loved, I have lost and above all I have grown. Yeah it’s good. Some people travel far and wide in order to get this experience . I swear on my fathers name I will succeed in my life
They give us degrees and work experience.
The teachers are... memorable
Perfect. My student rep represents well.
Perfect. Couldn’t ask for more. Wars were fought so that I could be here today.
Perfect. Tons of stuff.
Everything you would care to partake in.
Very good, best time of my life
Student worker, fairs etc
Very practical, but a bit too much theory
I think it’s very good
I like them alot
Okay, a bit far away from central but else good
Very big variety
Very good, tutorials available at any time
Wonderful support from personal tutor and facilities online (Blackboard). Many societies with different interests and religion faith. Best student supporting just when you in need.
