It’s a good environment and there is plenty of resources online to learn from and around the university
I like our university but If you can tailor the English language support course to your specific needs and make it more comprehensive, we can provide support without conflicting with our class schedules. Many students miss out on this type of support. We request that you consider two sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening, rather than just one session. This could be on different days. Thank you for completing this survey to inform us of this situation. For example, we were unable to attend during Welcome Week, but only one person from our department could attend because we couldn't accommodate the schedule. We were unable to hold an informational meeting for L4. Thank you.
Great uni and plenty of support for a mature student like myself.
It’s a perfect university with all the features a student need . Only thing I would say there is a parking issue and I would be really happy if uni can provide parking space at a discounted rate
Compared to why social media tells you, my flatmates are nice and respectful. We’ve established boundaries from the very beginning and make sure to hold each other accountable without shaming each out when we slip up!
The lecturers are lovely and so helpful. Student union is great if any problems. Would like more options for food at the canteen and also a few more microwaves.
All staff and faculty members are incredibly understanding towards students and do everything they can to help them.
I think the uni has a great support system for students and makes sure everyone feels comfortable and welcome come which can be a worry for international students
They listen well to their students.
The learning environment is quite encouraging and supportive, thanks to the teaching staff, unions, supportive groups, societies, and course mates. Furthermore, the facilities have been improving to better support learning, with more study spaces available across the campuses. One area that could potentially benefit from some enhancements would be the waiting times and the congestion experienced during the lunch hour.

ARU has a great location in the center of Cambridge. It is very close to lots of great shops, cafes and resturants. It's also very easily commutable too by most people in East Angelia and London, making it a great regional university. Downsides: I'm a diagnosed autistic and the disablity support offered by the university is terrible. While they do have councilers, there is such a backlog I couldn't easily acesss them when I was in a moment of crisis (Which other education insitutions I had previously been in had been a lot better at providing - Shout out to Kings Ely!) . I was told there was a 2 month waitlist. So, since then I have been having to handle my mental difficults and university stresses on my own. Which is really annoying, because ARU has billboards up proclaiming how they have the best support in the country displayed as I walk home. I was sold on a lie. University staff also were terrible at recgonising and providing help to those who were sturggling. I had a friend who had to resit his 2nd year because nobody noticed he had massive issues procrastinating and didn't check up on him. Leading to him making the terrible mistake of submitting all his work last minute past the deadline. Because of this lack of involment by staff, he has an extra years worth of debt now piled on him. This really annoys me, because previous insitutions I went to would have picked this up way earlier.
Improve the garden room food for dinner, our options nearly everyday is chicken or pizza and it’s getting quite repetitive and not very nice having the same options nearly every day
A complete student friendly environment
It's a good uni where the staff are really there to make you succeed, they treat you as individuals and there is so much help and resources available that you never really feel alone! obviously it's not oxford or Cambridge with its prestige but i'd say the quality of teaching and resources is just incredible and could easily beat many Russell group universities. I wish there was more funding available such as grants to support students like myself who struggle with university expenses! but with a new ish uni that's difficult. the lectures so far are passionate and come from all walks of life which is just inspiring. i just wish sometimes there was a more the school has so much room for improvement in the best possible way!
The best aspect is the location. It is nearby all facilities like cinemas, shopping centre, and all that the Cambridge city has to offer. The worst would be not having time to participate more with UNIVERSITY activities like fests and celebrations as I mostly have nursing placements.

One of the best parts of my university experience has been meeting people from different backgrounds and learning from them. It helped me become more confident and improve my communication skills. I also enjoy the practical sessions — they make learning more interesting and help me connect theory with real-life situations. The most challenging part has been managing time between assignments, classes, and personal life. At times, it can be stressful, especially during exam periods. I also found online classes a bit harder to stay focused in compared to in-person learning.
It’s such a comfortable and safe environment. It could be improved better with more social events to make friends
Everything is good here at Aru Chelmsford
