I love how much greenery there is. It is still one of the best universities but it manages to not feel ridiculously elitist or way too city based. I don't like that on my course I don't have much choice about modules.

The modules that you want to do are absolutely brilliant, but there isn't enough choice. The lecturers are great. On a theoretical course I'd expect to be able to enrol on at least some maths courses but this isn't the case; you have to attend them without credit if they interest you.

I was in halls during covid so there wasn't much available.

The campus is a lovely environment to live and study in, with plenty of places to work or take a break. The worst thing for me has been the cost of accommodation in first year, but that is similar to most places.

Most modules have been taught in person this semester, which is an improvement to last year. One module is still providing all of the content online, which I find less engaging. Weekly workshops are one of the most useful resources in second year as they provide an opportunity to ask for help and to practice areas that are challenging. These are similar to tutorials in first year, however I would prefer more tutor contact in later years to allow smaller groups so everyone can have an input.

The campus is outside of the city making it quiet, but is well connected with trams and buses making it easy to travel into the city. This is only difficult if you go out late as transport stops at around 23:00/24:00. The surrounding areas of Beeston and Lenton are also great for later year students for accommodation. Lenton is in between the campus and city centre as is very lively, whereas Beeston is a more residential area with lots of small cafés and charity shops.

I enjoyed the convenience of halls, and the opportunity to meet people. Being vegetarian meant that sometimes the meals were sometimes questionable, and meal times are not flexible which was sometimes difficult. I would have preferred self catered halls or access to a kitchen. The maintenance of my hall was excellent and whenever there was an issue, the response was always quick and the problem got sorted. One problem I had was that I was in quiet living accommodation, however there were people in my block who did not adhere to this.
