The campus is excellent and very beautiful, and there's lots to get involved in. I love going for long walks around the lake. It is also in a good location with plenty of cheap transport connections, though if you want to take a trip to Ikea, either get an Uber or make friends with someone who has a car. The Student Union are really helpful, and the building has many good places to eat. I love the sales they have, like the Vintage Kilo clothing sale too. The local businesses that they have set up round the back of the Djanogly steps are also great, and I love getting food from there. The Monica Partridge building is a great place to study in, but I also like going to the Hallward Library and sitting in front of the windows in the comfy seats looking towards the SU. The David Ross Sports Village is excellent, and I like going to the free Just Play events and using the gym. The only thing is that sports society memberships are too expensive, and this is prohibitive for students from lower-income backgrounds. In terms of helping with the workload, there aren't many strategies other than asking for extensions, which means that everything keeps backing up, and you end up more stressed. It also sucks that extenuating circumstances don't cover technological failures, which doesn't seem fair when my course involves explicitly working with technology.

The staff are really lovely in my department, which is music. They try to help you out as much as possible and are always open to feedback. The department has an amiable feel and is a close-knit community, and I have gotten to know other people on the course well. The university should invest more in the arts rather than giving the majority of funding to the sciences. We don't have many contact hours compared to science subjects, but you can go and see lecturers during their drop-in hours, although these can fill up quickly. It is annoying that we only get to use the main studio in our final year, although there is a mixing room. The practice rooms can also get quite cold in the winter.

I have had a few problems with my accommodation, especially concerning the fire alarm in my room malfunctioning and getting stuck on for over seven hours, but it was fixed. My room is a good size, though, and if you have a disability and need an ensuite, you have the difference deducted from your accommodation fees, so you don't have to pay extra for being disabled. The accommodation team in the SU are friendly and helpful, but the halls management tends to do less if you raise an issue. I can't fault the porters, though; they are really helpful. The ResX events for people living in halls are good and can help you to de-stress. Brunch at the weekends is nice but too expensive. Although I am in catered accommodation, we never get enough allowance to have lunch throughout the week, so you often have to use your own money to pay for meals. In addition, they stop serving breakfast too early throughout the week, and it's a pain that you have to go to another hall to have it.

The campus is so pretty and in a great location with easy transport to get into the city! The students Union are always offering great deals and access to everything you need including: boots, a hairdressers, coffee shops, food court, photocopying, support etc. There are many libraries with plenty of space to study. Although if you are staying in catered halls on campus, be wary of the food as it isn't the best, or most friendly for vegans and vegetarians!!

Lecturers that are in person are really helpful as it gives you more access to learning resources and class participation, although when you or your lecturer is ill, having lectures recorded is a great relief so you don't miss any content. There aren't many contact hours, although that allows you more time to study by yourself and time for societies!

The central location was perfect as it was near my lectures, library and Students Union. The meal card was perfect for lunches as you are out most of the day. The halls dinners were not the nicest as it lacked vegetables and fruit and the vegetarian/vegan options only consisted of undercooked pasta.
