The University of Reading has a very green campus, it is good for taking a breather when not studying and there is even a private place called “Harris Gardens” that is especially beautiful in Spring and Autumn. As a student at the university, I love all aspect of uni life such as the wide range of sports and societies available that I am able to get involved in when I am not studying. My course is fun and enjoyable and the group classes really help me to blend in and enjoy learning things in a broader sense. There are lots of eatery that offers good food like burgers or fish and chips on some days and a lot of cafes around campus for a quite stop if you need to catch up on a drink. The one thing I enjoy the most is the library, there are big open study areas if you want to have a group study or if you are quieter type, there are quiet study areas where you can focus on assignments or just on your own. The buses are convenient too and you can get to the town Center within 15-20 mins and there are train links to London and beyond if you want an adventure. The only thing that I think can be improved is that I believe there should be more grocery shops available not only Co-Op since there are many students living on campus, the nearest supermarket is Asda which is 20 mins by bus from the Center of the uni; this may be a disadvantage as many may buy many things which they are not able to carry over a long distance. Other than that, I think the university is a great place to study

Since I am doing an MSc course, most of my lectures are maximum 2-3 hours but a lot of the contact hours is your own work. I find myself being in the library most times or if it gets a bit too much, just to go for a walk to enjoy the fresh air and wildlife around campus. My classes are mainly in person and in small groups which is good in terms of discussions and if there are any problems or you are not able to understand much, the lecturers are really helpful. There is a student support dedicated to each department and if there are any personal or other problems, the counselling support and support services are really helpful, they deal with almost everything so you are never afraid to share your problems with them. I really enjoy my course and think that I am able to ask for help whenever I need it. The lectures also reply their emails relatively quickly and this makes it ideal if there is a deadline approaching or if there are any last minute queries that one had about an assignment due the following day. Overall it is a great experience and I would consider studying further in the university of reading

The campus is modern with high tech facilities including a newly renovated library and large scientific labs. Support is easy to reach for welfare and studies. As a swimmer it is a shame there is not a pool on campus and the university gym is rather small for the cohort of students who go there. The student union is a must.

All taught in person with a range of lectures seminars workshops and practicals. Lecturers are available for extra support and explain content well.

Shared kitchens are cleaned regularly. Shared toilets are not cleaned regularly enough. Rooms are off corridors rather than in flats which makes it noisy if people are in the corridor.
