AMAZING! Best 3 years of my life I was a member of Bowland College and the social side was great as well as the lecturers and my course which was English Lit The uni is so big but the splitting into colleges means you get to know your college, I love the community side to it all.

The staff are what make Lancaster a great experience. Unfortunately, they are being faced with massive cuts, particularly in the arts. This means the facilities are currently a little lacking. However, the passion of the staff, and their determination for students to have a positive experience, makes my student life at Lancaster University very good. The professional services and student support staff are very keen to make you feel heard and help with any issues, and the academic staff are genuinely interested in your work and help guide you to find your own passion. The wider HE situation could make for a depressing atmosphere, and does at times, but the community spirit at Lancaster is unmatched. The city is small, but has enough pubs and cafes for you to have a good social life. The bus service from campus to town means you never feel far from the buzz.

My course is largely independent, but the support from my supervisors is excellent.
