The best aspect of UoG is how the university strives to ensure that every student succeeds. The facilities and teaching staff available are fantastic, and better than universities far higher in rankings in some cases.

The course is taught in-person, three or four hour sessions, four days a week, with this expecting to be matched in time around this. It can be quite full-on at times, but there are no exams, with everything being marked by assessment. There is a large library available at each campus with all course resources available (which helps to keep the cost of book purchasing down), all lecturers have agreed contact hours, and in my experience do not necessarily restrict themselves to this, and are as helpful as they can be.

The nightlife is great and has plenty of variety, while also having close transport links to several larger cities too. There are plenty of restaurants and more opening all the time. There are lots of shopping opportunities and the town also has some quieter areas such as parks, bowling alleys, cinemas and darts clubs for people that are less interested in traditional nightlife. The only issue is that going out during the race week is nearly impossible, and very expensive if you do

The halls rooms themselves are nice, if a little small, and have en-suites. The kitchen is a little cramped, and space can be a premium when sharing with 9 others on a floor, however, there is a TV and sofa in there, which makes it easier to socialise with flatmates in the first few days
