Personally, I think it's the best place to have a fresh start - you can be whoever you want to be with no judgement, it's so diverse and welcoming. It has so many things for so many different types of people; if you love clubbing and nights out, there's so many places spotted around the city centre, such as dress up, quiz nights etc, but there's also wonderful scenery for those who like the peace and quiet. I would say that being able to start afresh has been one of the best things for me & it really helped me get out of my shell. Also because Nottingham is a student city, there are so many people to connect with from a variety of backgrounds. I wouldn't say there are "worst" things about the uni, but there are a couple of things that may be considered less great than others - Such as, there are some areas in Nottingham that have a higher crime rate than others, and I suppose that can be offputting, but this can be combatted by the support which the uni provides (such as on nights out, there's numbers and organisations which you can call so you feel safer if walking home alone). In summary, i think that this uni is great, it really is, the city of Nottingham itself has some negatives which impacts the university slightly, but NTU in general has a great support system to help you feel safe and secure in your journey as a student.

I have a mix of online and in person, but it is more in person, as my course is heavily practical - which I quite like, but i will admit it can be quite overwhelming, especially if you have a social anxiety like me. However, with practice, comes confidence, and even now, only about 7 months in, I can barely recognise the person I was in both high school and sixth form - I've changed and matured so much, and so, despite some of the confidence issues, the help of the lecturers and those around me have shown me that this experience is a blessing in disguise, it's great to reflect and look at how i've grown as a person. I've developed skills and talents that I wasn't even aware of, such as I now participate in a student radio show which I never thought I would do before. There are great contact hours & the lecturers are quick to answer emails & if it is in their out-of-office hours, they provide alternative contacts for your enquiries.

Very diverse city, very exclusive so it feels as though everyone is welcome. I've had a few jobs of very different styles since starting in September. best form of transport for me is the tram, as it's quick, efficient and cost-effective.

The location is great and there's lots of support for everything you need - whether that be to do with your studies or something more personal.

It is really varied, so I get to learn many aspects/hone in on my special interests more. The teaching is also great.
