Staff are always happy to help. They encourage you to try things because sometimes that’s the only way to improve. The campus has a lot of study spaces so you literally study anywhere. As a black Muslim student, it can sometimes be difficult to find on campus that’s suitable or even in the city of Bath. There are some things available of course, but for the most variety, Bristol is your best bet. For me, the worst part of my uni experience has been feeling isolated through my university career.

At the moment the course is a mixture of online and in-person teaching, which I really like because that some days you don’t have to leave you’re house or even your bed. The are lectures that cover the theory of the different topics and then there are workshops to work on the practical aspects like consultation skills. I think a problem with the course that I had was the literature writing lectures were in First year but I didn’t need all that information until Fourth year, where I had then forgotten what had been taught and I struggled with my final year project.

I don’t go out often but I’ve heard there are quite a few clubs in the city. There aren’t many places that sell African foods or halal foods. The place would be Perfecto other than that Bristol would be the next best place to get those kind of things. There are great transport links to Bristol e.g. the train, bus etc. I wouldn’t say Bath is very culturally diverse but there are societies on campus where you can find “your people”. There are plenty of places to do your weekly shop. Unfortunately there’s no big Tesco or Aldi but you can always do an online shop.

The room was pretty basic - single bed, desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe. The room was a good size though. We got a cleaner that would come and clean the bathrooms once a week. If you want this done more frequently you could go for the more expensive accommodation. Everywhere else, you had to clean yourself or you could pay for extra cleaning services. Because the accommodation is on campus, you’re really close to all your lectures and don’t have to wake up as early which is great. If the accommodation gets messy, you can only blame the people in the house because no matter the quality of the house, it will get messy if you have messy housemates.
