The campus at the University of Nottingham is gorgeous and genuinely the nicest I’ve seen out of the unis I looked at. Student life is amazing as there is so much to do in and around Nottingham and the other students are so friendly so it’s an amazing place to be. The only downside is the disability support and wellbeing services to do with mental health as it’s extremely difficult to get in contact with them let alone book an appointment.

The course is mainly comprised of Lab sessions, practicals and lectures which i think i’d a good mix. It has around 12 contact hours a week which i believe is the perfect amount and I’m also not left with heaps of work to do. Unfortunately we have had a fair few lectures cancelled but lecturers are always fast to let us know and put anything that would have been covered in the session online, usually that being a video recording.

Dagfa house is modern and comfortable. I am in a townhouse with 11 others and share a bathroom with another girl. A benefit is that you only share bathrooms with the same gender, and they are large and the showers are lovely. The kitchen is slightly too small for 12 people however there’s a large living area with a sofa and tv, dining table and also a booth which make it very sociable. The common area is also lovely and has loads of seating, silent study areas as well as a pool table. It’s very near to university which means it’s only a 10 minute walk until you reach the first buildings on campus and only takes about 20 minutes to get all the way to the science area. It is further away from Nottingham city centre than other accommodation however if that’s not important then the location is perfect. It’s a 5 minute walk from Beeston town which has many cafes and shops and is lovely. We have had a few issues such as the showers leaking, a fault with the fire alarm system which meant constant loud beeping and the kitchen taps making extremely loud vibration sounds and these did all take over a week to fix however smaller issues such as leaky bathroom taps or a toaster that didn’t work were sorted out within the hour.

Good and educational autmosphere where you can study and spend your spare time in the amazing campus! Very kind and friendly staff. I feel like Uni is my second home. No more homesick!
