I have had a really good time at university last year as well. I would recommend the university to anybody who was thinking of coming here - but make sure you take part in lots and clubs and join new societies and make sure you choose your modules wisely as you might regret doing it after you chose it

My overall experience of my first academic year in the university proved to be way more interesting and fun than I had originally planned. The course is very connected with the students with lots of activities, grouped assignments, engaging more with art which allows us to expand and grow as individuals. It's a harmonic combination of practical and theoretical teaching which I just appreciate very much as I am looking to expand both in practical skills and knowledge in the industry!

The facilities are just fantastic. The one I've been using the most in the last period is the Murray Library which is located close to the city center, near the University city center campus. The library has 3 floors depending on the concentration environment you're looking for, has every book students will need for their academic research and essays or course books. You can also find mac computers on the second floor which is very nice, or you have the option to rent a laptop from the library for a certain amount of days which comes in real handy!

The university provides top-notch wellbeing services and is always trying to help students with disabilities or mental health problems, through the Sunderland Futures team.

The course started off with a mix of close-up lessons and online ones in uni (following the government rules for social distancing) until December. Every lesson ever since January has been taught online.

Since I'm in my first year there have not been any chances yet for access to internships. Starting year 2, some of the modules will not only allow us but encourage and help us to get an internship engaging in the industry of graphic design with professionals by either online or normal close-up internships depending on the situation with the restrictions of the time. The Futures team has a lot of programs/seminars for helping with the creation of cv and covering letter for a job application, career advice, and lots of seminars which are specifically architected to help graduates.
