Teesside has a really beautiful campus and a great community, so it’s easy to make friends and get involved. There are lots of clubs and activities, which makes uni life more fun. The gym is nice, though some of the equipment could be more modern, and the uni computers are generally great, even if they sometimes break. It’s a bit frustrating that we can’t install software ourselves, but overall the facilities support both study and projects really well.

The best part about studying Game Art at Teesside is the hands-on experience. You get to work on real projects, experiment with different art styles, and develop skills across modeling, texturing, and engine workflows. The community is amazing too. It’s easy to make friends, collaborate, and find people who are as passionate about games as you are. The worst part is the software restrictions. You can’t install anything that isn’t already on the computers, which can be frustrating if you want to try new tools or workflows. Some of the computers occasionally break and a few parts of the curriculum don’t cover every advanced tool you might want to learn, so you end up teaching yourself a lot outside of class.
