When I first started looking into universities, Nottingham Trent really stood out to me. It just has such a good mix of everything, a great atmosphere, loads of opportunities, and a proper focus on helping students get ready for the real world. It isn’t the kind of place where you just sit in lectures all day; it’s hands-on, creative, and supportive. What I love most about NTU is how practical it is. Almost every course gives you the chance to do placements, live projects, or real industry work, which I think is so important. I like learning by doing, not just through textbooks. It feels like the uni actually wants you to succeed after you graduate, not just while you’re there. They’ve got really strong links with companies too, so you can make connections and figure out what kind of career you want while still studying. The facilities are amazing as well, everything is modern and up to date, and the campuses have such a nice feel to them. The city campus especially is great because it’s right in the middle of Nottingham, so everything’s close by, shops, cafés, and loads of student-friendly places to go out or hang out with friends. It is a proper student city, full of life and things to do. Another big thing for me is how supportive the uni is. The tutors are approachable and always willing to help, whether it’s with coursework or personal stuff. There’s also a big focus on wellbeing, which I think makes a massive difference. It’s nice to know that if you ever need help, someone’s there for you. Overall, I think Nottingham Trent has such a good balance, its modern, creative, and career-focused, but it also feels welcoming and fun. It’s the kind of uni where you can work hard, meet loads of people, and still enjoy the experience.

Overall, my experience on my course at Nottingham Trent University has been really positive. The teaching quality is one of the biggest strengths, most of the tutors are genuinely passionate about what they teach, and it really shows in their lessons and feedback. They put a lot of effort into helping us understand the material properly, not just memorise it. They’re approachable, supportive, and always willing to answer questions or give extra guidance when needed. I’ve found that the tutors encourage creativity and independent thinking, which makes learning more engaging and enjoyable. The course content itself is interesting and well thought out. It covers a wide range of topics, which keeps things varied and helps build a solid understanding of the subject overall. The mix of lectures, workshops, and practical sessions gives a good balance between theory and application, which I think is really important. I’ve enjoyed the projects where we can be more hands-on and experiment with ideas, as that’s often where I’ve learned the most. That said, I do think the course could benefit from a bit more contact time. Sometimes the gaps between sessions can feel quite long, and having more regular classes would make it easier to stay focused and maintain momentum throughout the term. A few more scheduled sessions each week could really help reinforce what we’ve learned and give us more opportunities to ask questions or get feedback in person. It would also be great to have more sessions dedicated to developing multiple skills at once. For example, workshops that combine technical skills with creative or professional development could be really helpful. These kinds of sessions would give us more chances to apply what we’re learning in different contexts, which would make the course feel even more rounded and practical. While independent study time is valuable, sometimes it feels like we’re left to figure out certain things on our own that could be better supported through structured teaching. Despite those small improvements, I’ve been really impressed with how committed most of the tutors are. They take the time to give detailed feedback, which has helped me improve a lot. Even when the workload feels heavy, the tutors make sure we understand what’s expected of us and offer plenty of advice on how to manage it. It’s clear that they care about our progress and want us to do well. The facilities and resources available also make a big difference. The studios, computer labs, and workshops are all well equipped, and there’s always somewhere to work or collaborate with others. The uni’s support systems, from library staff to wellbeing services, are also great and make the overall experience much smoother. In summary, I think Nottingham Trent delivers a really strong course that combines great teaching, interesting content, and supportive staff. A bit more contact time and skill-based sessions would make it even better, but overall, it’s been a really positive and rewarding experience

I’ve honestly really enjoyed living in my halls, they’re amazing in a lot of ways, but I can’t lie, they’re seriously expensive. The rooms are modern, clean, and well designed, and the shared spaces are great for socialising. It definitely feels like a proper student environment, and I’ve met loads of people just from being around the building. Still, for the price, it’s a bit of a shock. The rent is definitely on the higher side, and it sometimes feels like you’re paying for the location and convenience more than anything else. That said, the actual accommodation is really nice. Everything works well, and maintenance is quick to fix any problems. The rooms are a good size, and the kitchens have everything you need. It’s always warm and clean, which makes a big difference, especially in winter. The vibe is great too, everyone’s friendly, and it feels safe and relaxed. Speaking of safety, the security and office team are honestly brilliant. They’re always around, and it makes you feel properly looked after. If there’s ever an issue , whether it’s noise, a broken appliance, or a package delivery, they sort it out straight away. The staff are really approachable and genuinely care about making sure everything runs smoothly. I’ve never had to wait long for help with anything, which is a huge plus. The location’s another thing I love. It’s super convenient for getting to lectures, and everything you need is nearby, shops, cafés, gyms, and the city centre. You can easily walk everywhere, which saves a lot on transport. If it wasn’t for the price, I’d say it’s pretty much perfect. It’s definitely one of the best student accommodations I’ve stayed in or seen, but the rent is definitely on the steep side for what students can usually afford. I love living here, and the experience has been great overall, but I do wish it was a bit more budget-friendly.
