The courses that are offered give your great preparation for the modern musical world. I would like more practice rooms to be put in place, since it is a music conservatoire, students deserve a place to practice!

The facilities are good, though there could be more practice rooms. LCM needs to dedicate a separate space for practice and for teaching, at the moment they are mixed which means it is difficult to find an available room and also means you often have to move from one end of the building to the next instead of staying in one area to practice and another for lectures. There is also only one place which offers food at that is the “Café:Bar” which means there is not enough variety and choice for students to choose from and means the price of their food is not competitive. Students are forced to pay high prices for mediocre food because there is no other place that offers food in the college.

There are good support services though I haven’t experiences this first hand.

I haven’t really come in to contact with my SU to be honest!

Lots of places in Leeds to drink but some streets of Leeds can get quite loud and hectic with the endless number of nightclubs that align the streets of Leeds. This is rather unfortunate if you are not particularly keen on that type of lifestyle.

LCM provides various orchestras such as chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra, jazz big band and the New Music Collective which is a collaboration of musicians from different pathways.

What I have noticed about LCM in comparison to university, is that some lecturers are not open to having students who are not officially part of the class to sit-in on lessons. This is rather disheartening as I would think that teachers would be thrilled to know that other students take an interest in their lessons and wish to engage and learn more, yet they are turned away for no real reason other than because they are not “registered” in the class.

The job prospects just depend on the market. Music is always temperamental.

The student halls have okay value. There are cheaper places but the location is a convenient distance to LCM. If you are in JSH building it is literally joined to it.

Amazing teachers! Really friendly people feel right at home and being Surrounded by people who are interested in the same thing is a great experience. The main building has a older look and diversity could be improved but they are working towards that and are culturally sensitive as a POC they do their best to make you feel seen and heard

It is blended learning with 3 lesson being online in a 30 hour week it is really on hands and in person would like more acting classes however bit overall the content is all amazing
