I am a currently a first year nursing student at The University of Chichester. I have relocated to the area to attend the university. This was the best choice I have made. Compared to other universities in the area. University of Chichester is a smaller campus and has a friendly atmosphere. The location of the university is good, the traffic can be unpredictable but the town is easily accessible and is in walking distance and there are many shops and restaurants. During my first couple of weeks during our course we have used the health one building which has the simulation rooms which aids preparation for practice before heading into real life settings such as placements. During my short time at university I was easily able to access student services due to my hearing. They have an amazing set of staff that work with you to help support your learning and can create a plan to help you overcome any barriers that might be faced during your time at university. I have weekly or monthly check ins with them to update my progress which I find helpful. Personally out of all the university I applied for this was the best choice, this was down to the size of the campus and the sizes of the cohorts that they take for nursing students.

In my personal opinion, I feel that the course content is varied and has a wide variety when it comes to The university of Chichester. Within Adult nursing we do not just have lectures we have multiple ways that we are taught. This can be through simulation, lectures, evidence based learning, group activities . This all depends on the topic and the lecturers. Due to the cohort sizes being small there lectures are easily contactable and are approachable for any questions or queries. Most of our time is spent in the health one building which is fairly new to The University of Chichester. This has simulation rooms and teaching facilities that we use on a daily basis.

Best: Supportive lecturers and useful clinical placements that helped build my confidence and practical nursing skills. Worst: Heavy workload and sometimes unclear communication about assignments and placements. Better organisation and clearer guidance would improve the experience

Best: The course offers a mix of in-class and Zoom learning, and lecturers are generally supportive. Worst: Sometimes the course timing clashes with important work like the dissertation. It would be better if that period was kept free so students can fully focus on completing it.
